| @darkwiishes | Jack sat quietly on the couch, coloring. It was one of the first time he was âproperlyâ regressed in front of Whisper. This was more so because of Signeâs coaxing. He was wearing a onesie, a nappy and was more so chewing on his pacifier. Still a bit shy to âsuckâ on it. Even then, he wasnât quite regressed as his anxiety lingered. Luckily Signe had left a bit of a dictionary of Jackâs behaviors and needs for Whisper. Though the awkwardness still was tangible in the air. Even more so to the fact Sean was mostly keeping the soother in to avoid being conversated with. He was still embarrassed of this untraceable curse.
Whisper was sitting on the couch next to him, leaned back with her legs crossed, skimming the information Signe had left. They glanced over at Jack every so often, feeling apprehensive herself and disliking the feeling.
Eventually Whisper sat up, setting the paper down and eyes lingering on the colors occasionally. They were quiet.
Jack quietly kicked his feet. Everything seemed to have been going smoothly until a bit to much pressure and-
Snap!
Jack looked in terror as his crayon bent in the middle, broken in half from his tendency to push a bit too hard.
His blue eyes were flooding with warm, burning tears that were soon spilling down his cheeks.
As simply as Signe had put it, in his younger headspace SeĂĄn was moreâŠprone to being a crybaby. Which was normally solved by a quick distraction with just about any toy.
Whisper looked legitimately worried for a moment, before glancing around.
âUm,â Whisper said, not her most eloquent moment. âHere.â Whisper grabbed the closest toy and held it out to him, refraining just barely from tossing it at him.
Sean gasped slightly, as a St. Bernard toy was tossed into his lap. His eyes met up with Whisperâs. He picked up the toy and stared at it. He held it up slightly. âSh-umoâŠliâe ConnorâŠâ He explained quietly.Â
Signe normally asked, so he simply wanted to comfort Whisper, make her feel more at home. Sean wasnât even sure what she liked. Granted she was still adjusting to the large toddler-minded man in the midst of the living room.Â
Sean was adjusting to a new person and Whisper, a whole new lifestyle.Â
ââŠâm surry..â
âRight... like Connor,â Whisper said, almost awkwardly. âThe android. From that one game.â Whisper wasnât too caught up on the games Sean played. She nodded slowly, then tilted their head. âYouâre sorry?â Whisper questioned.
âIâm not sure what exactly youâre apologizing for, but itâs okay, I guess?â Whisper uncertainly lowered herself down to sit next to him. Everything was still very new and odd.

Yo hit me up for my d.iscord if you feel like it. Iâm going to try to be back by the third.
I should probably be back by like my birthday?
I never actually said a specific date. The fourteenth.
Narrator voice: They were not, in fact, back by their birthday.

âHey wooshers... did we grab anymore banana milk when we went out?â Jack rubbed at his eyes with the heel of his hand, it was about 8. His recording had lasted a good 12 hours and he wanted to just relax and let his mind fade. ((Jaxkababy))

Whisper is slightly taken aback when the other approaches her.
âOh, sheâs gone out,â they say, jerking a thumb behind herself at the door. âI could⊠check?â Whisper didnât often interact with the others in the house.
âWell, you know how they say - normal is subjective,â Whisper only said, before pushing herself up from her seat on the floor. âThereâs this thing called âintrapersonal normalityâ, which is kind of what that means, I guess?â
They decided to stop before she started rambling. It wasnât particularly a habit of theirs, but it happened sometimes.
âUm, let me know if you need anything?â
âIâll probably just watch some cartoons and crash on the couch.â
Jack rubs the back of his neck standing up.
âI bring a whole new definition to the word man-child .â He joked, deciding to head out to the couch.
He sat down and flipped through Netflix to find his account Signe had made for him.
Whisper nodded. âOkay.â She started making their way towards the door, so she could go back to the kitchen, where they had been before Jack came out of his recording room.
She glanced back at Jack when he made the joke. âHeh.â Whisper slipped out of the room.

âIs that so?â Whisper asked, making sure to keep her voice neutral so they wouldnât upset the boy.Â
âWhat else do you two do when youâre..â she trailed off, not quite sure the terminology and waving a hand vaguely. They sat cross-legged across from him.
âWeâŠuh, she sometimes sings to me in Danish. She sometimes teaches me some DanishâŠâ Jack seemed lost in thought, then seems to regain thought.
âSutâŠi think thatâs pacifierâŠOh and nuttet is cute, right?â Jack rubbed at his hands.
âRight,â Whisper replied with a short nod. She watched Jack for a few moments, somewhat lost in thought themself, before reaching over and tapping the sippy cup. âThatâs going to get warm,â she said, referring to its contents.
Jackâs cheeks reddened hearing the slight tap of the otherâa nail against the cup. He sheepish smile crosses his face, followed by a nervous chuckle as he quickly took a sip of the semi-cold beverage.
âI-I forgot I had it.â
Whisper studied him for a few moments longer. If anything, she could learn stuff. Theyâd never known someone like Jack. He was unique in different ways.Â
She offered a small l smile to make themself seem more friendly - and also because it was somewhat amusing heâd forgotten he had the cup. âSo⊠how often do you do this? Does it actually help?â
âIâŠit really depends on how stressed I am. Lately it hasnât been that often. But like I always feel a lot better afterwards.â
Jack glanced back up to the other.
âI just like being taken care of sometimes.â
âUnderstandable,â Whisper replied. âIt makes sense. You donât really have to worry about much when someone else is taking care of you and other things.â She nodded.

âOh, sheâs gone out,â they say, jerking a thumb behind herself at the door. âI could⊠check?â Whisper didnât often interact with the others in the house.
Whisper hummed. She noticed him shivering, so they stood from her place on the floor near him and grabbed the blanket, hesitating before going back over to him and placing it on his shoulders.Â
âI donât⊠I donât like people, or children,â they said quickly. âSo - If I do or say something you donât likeâŠâ
âI meanâŠthatâs relatable.â
He whispered under his breath, accepting the blanket. âI get it. I say shit people donât like by mistake. And itâs like everything I say is controversial, yâknow? I swearâŠâ He mumbled resting his head in his hands.
âEither that so and so did it earlier and better so itâs like youâre constantly compared to them and no matter what you do you always have that one person that you just canât please.â
Jack sighs.
âOr you just lose the sense of fun because thereâs just too much griping.â It seemed now he was comfortable, and a bit more calm. His pressures became clearer.
No wonder heâs so stressed.
Whisper hummed. It was pretty clear to her that Jack needed to de-stress.
If regressing was how he coped, they supposed that she could help him if Signe wasnât here. âWhat do you need me to do?â they finally asked.Â
âNot completely hate me.â He mumbled, gently tugging at his blanket.
âWellâŠâ
âI think Iâm doing⊠okay, so far?â It was more of a question. âI donât hate you in particular.â
âYouâre just learning youâre doing fine.â
He said, glancing up at the other. He never wanted to make her feel like she wasnât doing good, or anybody in that position really.
âI-itâs kind of like babysitting.â
âOkay.... Iâve done that before. Babysitting. A while ago,â Whisper muttered, not adding that it was probably before he was even born.
darkwiishes:
âWhy not?â Whisper said.
â âcause thâ boardwalk is closed. kinda illegal to be pickinâ locks âere. â
âClosed.â
âFor now,â she continued, still messing with the lock and lockpick.Â
