“Oh- Actually, it’s just me and my folks in the show! My Big Brother works in St. Canard now! What he does- I have like- no idea, but he says it’s the best job he’s ever had!”

Loopy watches the other duck admire her plane with a curious grin, almost giggling at her reaction.

“-Have you like, ever ridden in a plane before?”

“The...boom? Oh, that’s right. I bet they play the music really loud at these sort of things--”

“So you really are the same McQuacks! Gosh, if I were you, I’d be suuuper jealous that he gets to stay in St. Canard...it looks a lot more interesting than here.”

At the question, Daisy frowns as she turns her gaze back to Loopy.

“Sure, I’ve traveled before...never on something like this though.”

  “Well that sure is true. I’ll be quiet now so I can listen to your story!”

“Okay, so remember what I said about the pumpernickel? Minnie showed up with the bread but forgot the mustard, so I sent her back to get it (this is the part where I noticed the loaf was rye) and so I called Donald to go buy me the right kind and–”

this is an appreciation post for anyone who has ever tolerated me

“Well, Like, Naturally! Us McQuacks are natural born flyers! That’s why everyone like calls us, ‘The Flying McQuacks!’”

The blond giggled appreciatively, the ‘crashing comment’ literally flying over her head. She stripped off her bright pink helmet, sliding it underarm as she hopped out of her plane. 

“-Are you like- a fan? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you at one of our airshows before…”

“Oh, ummm,” she finally drawls out in reply, stilling her hands. “Actually, this one’ll be the first one I’ve ever gone to!”

Admiring the shine of the aircraft, Daisy walks around in a wide circle to see it from all angles. As her hand reaches out to touch the wing, she yanks it back and holds her arms behind her.

“I heard Scrooge McDuck had a pilot called Launchpad McQuack, so I thought he might’ve been flying in the show.”

Her tone was light and conversational, never mind the rude connotations– this was something to be celebrated! Clapping appreciatively into Loopy’s face, Daisy cheers for the confirmed safety of plane, pilot, and…well…the city.

“Hurray, hurray!”

Taeko seemed mostly amused at all of this but she couldn’t doubt the fact she felt like she had made a friend. Part of her doubted the Daisy saw her as much but she placed that to the newness of their friendship. Taeko truly thought these things of Daisy, her exposure to her having done that. If she was being used, Taeko was confident she’d notice it. Besides, was it manipulation if Taeko was willing to do these things on her own accord? Interesting debate could be had their really.

She merely giggled at the duck’s excitement. At least she was happy, right? It seemed like she wanted some good company and Taeko was happy to provide herself. It would be good to get out the office for a time.

“Well, I do not have anything to do right now, myself so I don’t see why I cannot join you right now. It would hardly be right of me to leave someone as gorgeous as yourself without some company.” Taeko commented with a smile as she stood beside the duck, letting her summon the taxi.

This would be fun. Taeko was certain.

While Daisy was content to hang out with new people, it would take her some time before she was willing to work on creating a new friendship. To her, friends were people who she knew would love her no matter how difficult she became to deal with. This was only one step of many. “–Oh, goody!” she exclaims, pushing at Taeko from behind. “Get inside, get inside! There’s no time to lose! The more meter money we lose, the less we get to spend on fun stuff!” 

The duck rushes around the vehicle and climbs into the other side, sitting tight and looking pretty.
