League Beginner Quest 1

Things were often very boring at Ballet practice as every day was practically the same thing, strict routine and harsh discipline about the most minor of things. Darla, you need to straighten up more than that, Darla you can't be prancing around like that. You need to have all your hair pulled up into that bun Darla!

It was the worst thing that she could be made to do when her best friend was just waiting for her to get home, then they could search all through the gardens for all sorts of bug Pokémon! Maybe she'd even find an Ekans in the taller grass... though her mother has strictly forbade her from going near them. Darla was dying to get out of this stuffy room and outside into the fresh summer air!

Then to her delight she realizes that her Ducklett has followed her from home and is sitting at the closed window, and tiptoeing over she lets in her best friend with a little giggle. “You found me…” she whispers as she pats the Ducklett on the head fondly. “We’re doing stretches right now Duckie, but I’m pretending that I’m getting ready to jump a huge canyon!” she ducks her head as her ballet instructor swivels their head around at the sound of her raised voice.

Falling back into her stretches obediently she waits until the instructor has lost interest to look back at her Ducklett… Who is now trying to copy some of the moves itself. Oh why does it have to be so adorable! “I suppose ballet isn’t all bad… but when I’m old enough we’re going to go on our own adventure Duckie. We’ll challenge the gyms and- and-“ a low, long suffering sigh near her ear makes her jump as her instructor taps her foot – instinctively Darla lifts it higher with a squeak. Realizing that they aren’t going to leave her alone any time soon Darla sighs and starts stretching out her other leg against the balance bar, one eye closed as the other remains open to watch Duckie continue dancing. “We’re going to be the best partners in the world… I know you’ll never leave my side after all. You are the most loyal Pokémon in the whole wide world after all.”

Shifting her weight slightly as her feet start aching from standing in one spot for too long she groans softly. “Then I won’t need to do all this stupid practice.”
