Because I’m soft for this unlikely daddy-daughter duo Rhames picked up.

Davos the Luxray was king to a pride who was unconventional in that

A. He let the cubs of his predecessor live/didn’t partake in the usual infanticide when he took over the pride.

B. He took on a Mightyena who headed her own pack as his queen and with her had Jasiri the Poochyena.

Unfortunately A came back to bite him in the ass when one of the cubs he spared came back and destroyed him as an adult and did what he couldn’t, with Jasiri being the only child of his he could save after he was defeated and had to run off with her while his mate covered their escape and died in the altercation.

So it’s single dad and newborn daughter shenanigans and he ain’t doing so well cause poor Jasiri is nowhere near the age to be weaned off her mom, but finds out that the land doesn’t forget the deeds of a good king and several of his former subjects still loyal to him take it upon themselves to nurse the pup and keep them safe until she’s strong enough to walk and run with him.
