I don't know who needs to hear this
But if we want this "online safety act" to be removed and stop it from coming to other countries
We need to start boycotting websites that are using age verification
The same way people are boycotting YouTube because they are going to use their badly programmed since 2008-during 2010s (the ai that is used in recommendation system they have, both personalised or not and letting it mark videos for kids or not during and after the COPPA incident) and hasn't bother to fix it since AI to age verification users
This isn't just adult/porn websites
But websites like Twitter/X and Bluesky
Don't use VPNs during this boycott since VPNs came more popular to get passed the age verification in UK. You can still use VPNs for your online safety but don't use it to get by the age verification during this boycott.
This is because the government might take away VPNs next, there were talk about vpns being banned, luckily nothing came through but I wouldn't trust the government especially after they had a interest in VPNs after the act became actively. So it's a possibility they might be banning VPNs due they are only thing that bypasses their law to control the Internet just behind close doors.
The partition is basically useless now because the government isn't going to bother for a debate date and going to keep delaying it until the partition closes during this month
So the best option now to protect your privacy from hackers and your right to keep your private information safe is by boycotting.
Maybe it will get in the government's head that this act isn't making people happy because it's violates their safety online.
And no one wants to use those websites anymore because they are forced to give ID to a website to use a website no matter if it's a porn website or not.
Protect your rights!
Let's start boycotting!
