Influencer’s Assistant (Taylor Downs & Reader)
Rating: G
Summary: You work some assistant magic as you book a new interview for the internet's hottest influencer, Rosie Levin.
A/N: Flash Drabble S08E08. Well, it's something!
As Rosie Levin’s assistant, you field all of her business correspondence, and boy, have you come across some characters (and time-wasters) in doing so. That being said, you received a very interesting phone call today.
The ever-growing Central City Citizen Media outlet was in touch today. More specifically, a mildly annoying-sounding reporter contacted you by the name of Taylor Downs.
I mean, they can’t all be a ‘Lois’.
By the sound of it, Miss Downs is still green. And her energy nearly made you hang up the phone, but since Rosie is apparently the next CCC Media’s 'Woman of the Week,' you feel this could be excellent exposure for Rosie’s upcoming project.
“Okay, Miss Downs, we will agree to an interview,” you say smoothly, “However, certain topics will not be discussed, such as Miss Levin’s dating life, as well as the incident at Central City International Airport two months ago.”
“Yes, absolutely,” Taylor agrees with a little too much pep in her voice.
“Additionally,” you continue, “we are incredibly busy lately, as we are about to launch Miss Levin’s new home décor line, ‘Cozy with Rosie.’ But you’re in luck. There is a small window of availability for an interview tomorrow with Miss Levin at 1:30 pm."
"That's perfect! We would love to book that spot with Rosie."
"There are two more conditions: ‘Cozy with Rosie’ must be explicitly mentioned in your article, and CCC Media must allow Miss Levin and her team the final say in allowing or denying the posting of the article.”
I am so on a roll.
“I’m sure that will be no problem,” the reporter mentions hurriedly. “Consider it done.”
“Excellent. Miss Levin enjoys Jitters and will meet you there tomorrow at 1:30 pm. Have a nice rest of your day.” You hang up the phone just as Rosie Levin herself walks into the office with her long blonde hair swaying, big doe eyes sparkling, and a freshly manicured hand clutching an iced strawberry matcha latte.
“Who am I meeting at Jitters tomorrow?” she asks you.
Labelled by some (trolls) as a “shallow social media influencer,” she is one hundred percent the opposite. While yes, sometimes she lives in her own little universe in her head, she’s a hard worker and loves what she puts out into the world. Her vibe is absolutely perfect for influencing the public on everything and anything. The numbers speak for themselves – 500,000 followers and counting. From pilates to baking, DIY tutorials to solo travel vlogs, she is a content powerhouse.
And just happens to be your best friend from university.
“A reporter from CCC Media. Seems pretty fresh,” you inform her. “But it’ll be great exposure for the home décor line.”
“Amazing. Ugh, I can always count on you, (Y/N).” She winks. “What would I do without you?”
The thought catapults your brain to think of all the things you two have been through together – good times and bad.
“You’d be just fine.”
