Even though she knows it isn’t really a practical solution, it’s the best they have, and she isn’t in any mood to argue so she simply nods against his chest, taking deep breaths. “I won’t,” she murmurs, tightening her grip on him. “I don’t want to,” she whispers, tears gathering in her eyes. “Never stop chasing after me,” she requests. “If you hadn’t showed up I would have killed Merida.”

His cheek rests gently against the top of her head, keeping her as close as he possibly can. "I promise I won’t,” he assures her softly. “But I don’t believe you would have killed her. I think there’s still light in you -- even if you don’t necessarily see it for yourself.” She could fight off the darkness from consuming her, he had to believe that. She was strong, and if anyone could it was Emma Swan.

He raises his eyebrow at her for a moment before giving in and accepting her answer. “If you insist, Swan,” he concedes, his lips seeking another kiss from her own. “Of course, it helps that I’m quite dashing -- I imagine it would be hard to stray from this.”
