My silly little web comic about a silly little game I played a while back and still love :p

Overall, I kinda just thought this blog needed an introduction page, so yeah! If you’re here because you are invested in my fanfiction or just because it looks interesting, thank you! It means a lot to me :)))

So, the question I get the most about Soul Forged is what exactly Knight is doing here and what he's supposed to be.

well I wrote a little thing to answer it :p

“Robo Knack”

(Takes place between Knack 1 and 2)

“Really, doc?” Ryder crossed his arms crassly. “Knack holds up fine in the field! He saved the whole world on his own, he doesn’t need a partner, let alone a robot! How do we know he won’t just bash his face in because he mistakes him for one of Viktor’s?”

“Oh, quit it, Ryder!” Vargus retorted. “Just look at him! He’s the spitting image of Knack. Think of him as… a compliment to Knack, not just a combat support!” Before the two men, stood a robot body held up by supports, in a separate room deep within the doctor’s vast laboratory. Tall and thin, his titanium-aluminum chassis glimmered in shades of silver and gray, from the centerpiece in his chest to the blank visor that was his face. From the back of his head, metal ruffles shot out like a fluffy mane, protecting the inner components of his head, and his sharp, small ears pointed up.

Many months, almost a year now, Vargas had spent meticulously designing his creation, and yes, lots of inspiration was taken from what he learned from Knack. An arcane energy powered core, energy routes that mimicked his, all the magic-like works of a golem built into a robot. Clean, never before seen technology, this android would be revolutionary to the world of robotics. Sure, relics powered buildings and transportation, but never before conscious beings. “Gonna bring all the big guys in again to gawk at him, too?” Lucas had chided while helping program him, referencing Knack’s showcase at the lab way back when their adventures began.

And now here they were- ready to power him on.

Familiar unique footsteps behind them indicated an unhuman presence, but a well beloved one.

“You summoned me, Doctor?” Knack asked curiously. “You’re a long way down.”

“Ah yes!” The Doctor quipped. “Now, Knack, what if I told you I could harness what I’ve learned from you, and, dare I say, master the transfer of consciousness using arcane energy?” 

Knack’s ears and eyebrows flicked up in surprise. “As in, you’ve created another golem?” He tilted his head, curious as to where this conversation could lead.

“Ah, not quite.” Vargas responded. “But incredibly close!” He stepped aside to reveal the statue-like android chassis behind him. Knack’s eyes narrowed in confusion.

“A robot? Do you mean… you’ve created consciousness in a robot?” Knack locked eyes with the orb in the smaller robot’s chest. “And I’m going to assume you gave him some features like mine?” He looked down at the gentle blue glow of the sphere in his own chest.

“Precisely!” The Doctor exclaimed, throwing his arms in the air. He turned and held them towards his newest creation. “I’ve successfully breathed life into this shell of a robot! And today, he is ready to change the world, and prove the true potential behind your discovery!”

“He doesn’t look very alive to me.” Another voice from the door to the room. Lucas strode in, bathed in the light of the lab. “Judging by how Knack’s finally been allowed to see him, I’m guessing we're finally turning the guy on?” Lucas prodded the doctor.

“Eureka!” Vargas cheered. Lucas rolled his eyes with a smile.

“It’s about time, I’ve been coding this sucker forever. We even had to get some materials from some other roboticist looking guy. Lotta funny code the guy gave us.” Lucas yapped.

“Right, now, let’s get going!” Vargas quickly sat down at a computer that the robot was connected to, and began tapping in codes, which flashed quickly on the monitor.

“Where’d that guy go, anyway?” Lucas asked. “Weren’t we like, partnered with him or something? I mean, he was over here a lot talking to you-”

“I’m not sure, can’t seem to track him down. He ghosted me about the project, but no skin off my nose.” Vargas interjected. “A-ha!” He exclaimed, and a chime was heard from the android.

His core flashed to life. The cyan blue reminded Knack of the blue between a thick pane of glass. Across his visor a vertical blue bar of the same electric hue glitched on, and he raised his head as if jolted from sleep.

“Jeez, that was fast!” Ryder said. “You know who would think this is cool- Katrina. She’d get a KICK out of his guy, do you think I should call her-”

“Not the time, Uncle!” Lucas groaned. Knack chuckled a little. Vargas stood and approached the robot, stepping up on a small platform to reach his head.

“Hello sport, how are ya feeling?” The robot only blinked a couple of times. Vargas gently began adjusting things on the sides of his visor and ears.

“Why isn’t he saying anything? I thought he was done?” Lucas asked impatiently.

“Maybe he doesn’t speak English.” Ryder said in full seriousness.

“I don’t see why he wouldn’t if those who created him are natively English.” Knack said, smiling at Ryder’s denseness.

“See, statements like those are why Katrina dumped you.” Lucas said back.

“Nuh uh!” Ryder argued.

“Will you two quit it?!” Vargas scolded, still adjusting. He turned his attention back to the robot. “Okay, buddy. How does that feel? Audio and optic input okay? The little guy (well, not so little compared to the humans) nodded shyly at him.

“Te quiero!” Ryder yelled to the robot. “That means hello in Spanish. Y'know, just in case he still doesn’t speak English."

“Did you not see him nod yes to the doctor’s question? He clearly understands English!” Lucas yelled back. “I actually think we put a universal translator on him!”

While Lucas and Ryder went back and fourth, Knack stepped up towards the smaller robot. He watched his visor eye flicker wider in surprise at him- the only other non human in the room.

“Hey there, buddy.” Knack said gently with a welcoming smile. “Do you have a name?” The android looked down and shook his head.

“Well, I’ve been referring to him as Robo-Knack.” Vargas chimed in. “Whaddya think, Robo?” The android just looked at the ground, his ears slowly lowered.

“Look at him, kid! He looks like a knight ready to jump on a horse with all that silver!” Ryder said amidst his noisy conversation with Lucas.

“Uncle, he’s not made out of steel, or iron, or silver. Those are too heavy!”

Knack thought for a second before turning back to the robot, who was looking up curiously at Lucas and Ryder. Those two could break anyone out of their shell, even a shy robot experiencing his first minutes of existence.

“Y’know, they aren’t wrong. You do look a little like knight armor.” Knack said, and chuckled gently. “Ignore them, they’re quite the duo together.”

“Define knight.” The robot finally said, and he looked around. Everyone stopped to look.

“Ah, using your built-in search engine, huh buddy?” Lucas observed. ‘Yknow, courtesy of me.”

“Interesting.” he said. “I like that name. Knight.”

“Yes, but-” Vargas said, but Knack spoke.

“Hm, I like it. Good job buddy, it’s very fitting.” He told him.

“Thank you.” Knight responded. “What is… your name?” He tilted his head.

“We call him Knack!” Vargas said happily.

“Actually,” Knack smiled. “I call myself Knack.’” He extended a hand to Knight. “Now, how about we get you out of this and you can meet everyone else, and explore your home.” Knack said “You’re gonna like it here.”

Knight took the help, stepped out of the frames, and looked around at the room. The faces around him, the technology of the lab, Vargas' lab technicians that walked by outside the room's large windows. He didn’t know much in his first few minutes of his life, but from what he had so far observed of the playful bickering, welcoming faces, and science dreams, he found himself agreeing.

He would like it here.

For a long, now dream-like time.

Knight is supposed to be the player 2 from Knack 1

Judging by how the world of Knack seemingly has a perfectly clean energy source, clean modern technology, and an arguably peaceful society, I need the people’s opinion:

Does Knack (or at least the world it takes place in) count as Solarpunk?

I voted yes at first from a carbon perspective, but now that I think about it, it probably isn't.

For example, there is still the exploitation of resources. Even carbon-neutral relics are effectively grave-robbed from a 'lost civilization', and mining is a destructive process to the environment.

Secondly, the infrastructure in which people live and work is still very very familiar to a lot of the audience in the form of concrete cities and skyscrapers and stuff, including (hover)cars. Plastic manufacturing is probably happening to achieve various material properties; it's hard for me to imagine certain items being made entirely without plastic, and my dad said they probably have plastic or something very similar because it's so useful for a lot of our gadgets. I vaguely recall hearing something about plant-based plastics, which could be employed at a reasonable scale in the Knack universe.

There's a lot about the Knack universe we don't confidently know, like how big the populations are or their supply chains or what the globe looks like, so I guess I can't confidently say yes or no, but I'm kinda leaning toward no, especially since people like Viktor can become so powerful and there is evidence the patriarchy exists, etc.

Hi gng what’s happening

So I’m wondering two things here:

1) I really want to return to Soul Forged right now. My boyfriend of 10 months recently broke up with me (deadass got dumped on 4/20 💀), and I don’t move to a new culinary school until Autumn. I miss Soul Forged so much, it’s still a huge part of mine and my sister’s lives, and we talk about it a lot and still think very fondly of it. (the fact that’s it’s been a YEAR since I last uploaded makes me so sad -_-)

So, with that in mind, since progress on pages will likely be super slow, I want to know what you guys want to see. And by that, what mediums can I do for you guys that does not involve drawing since Aspen has all the artistic talent and that’s what 90% of a comic is 😅. I love writing so if anyone wants to see written work perchance I could do some of that? Also anything else I could do that again does not involve much drawing. I am open to all of your lovely ideas :D

2) lowk would we be down for a discord server just for our little cult following of knack? I’m not too sure about how to set it up but if yall are down I think it’d be cool

Hi hi!

1) Congratudolences on the break-up ❤️‍🩹 I remember when I had a relationship and it didn't work out. I was very sad at first but I learned a lot about myself and it turned out to be a good thing. I hope it's the same for you 🙏

I need to read more, and I've seen some people in the fandom talk about liking fanfics, so fanfiction sounds good!

I'm also struggling with making a comic, but due to lack of time. I've thought of taking photos of myself with props or outfits and drawing over them, but I lack the equipment (and time to make space). I've thought of making 3D models and posing them/tracing over them, but I still lack time. Oh yeah and I thought about posting the comic pieces I have as posters for a fanfiction version, but uhh yup still lack the time/brain power lmao. Maybe you'll have better luck! 😁

2. @miggsteriskool adapted their friend group discord into a knack discord. So far, I'm having some fun hanging out here and there when I do find a rare bit of time to work on knack projects or clean my room. Although it's hard to get on at the same time as other people because of time zones, and I can't seem to talk about knack on voice chat because my brain doesn't work.

First off, thank you so much 🥺 in the world of posting online for Soul Forged and tumblr pretty much you’re my day one Disco 😭

Second, with that in mind, I was thinking I could write fanfiction style instead of comic pages for some of it, like if yall want to see anything more about my characters or about Knack himself and the other characters from Knack

Since I’m a bit stalled on ideas right now, if anyone has anything they want to see, my original post is now open for requests!! In the meantime, I’ll see what I can cook up

HEY KNACK FELLAS!!! Soo, i kinda suck at explaining my au because whenever i have to explain something the topic changes lol. To fix that, I’d like it if people could ask me questions about it. I tried connecting my au’s lore to the games as best as I can, from the origins of the evil orb thing in the first game to my golem ocs to the golem civilization and how they became racist to each other. Hey guys,

I understand I promised you all new pages this summer, however all Aspen and I have to offer you is the official cover for Arc 2. I’m so sorry about that. Our lives have been demanding this summer, but it’s only because of good things, I promise :) (she’s an engineering student and I am becoming a culinary student, which I’m very excited about 😁) That being said, Soul Forged will be going on hiatus. MY ACCOUNT WILL STILL BE VERY ACTIVE. If you want to ask questions or leave comments, I will still gladly respond!! You can probably see I still like a lot of stuff 😅 And no, Arc 2 is not over, and I promise right now (for real this time, it’s been in the works for years now 😭) an Arc 3 coming set back in Newhaven! Thank you guys so much for your unconditional patience and love, and I promise we will be back!!

I’m a little late to this (by “a little” I mean I’m almost positive this was in late May) but I’ve officially had this blog for one year :DD

Question about your experience with Pinterest: Did you find the 'reactions' to your comic useful, surprising, or gratifying?

I think pinterest removed all the other options besides love.

In full transparency (and probably because I’m just kinda a dingus): I don’t know what reactions are on Pinterest or where to find them- but literally any love or feedback on any of my projects is super duper appreciated and if you left it thank you so much!! :DDD
