i hit 400 followers pretty recently, which is really wild, if you ask me. I never expected to make it very far since there are so many other 76 roleplayers and they are all way better than me (and i still have doubts that make me wanna leave) but I’ve been so well-received and I really don’t know how to say just how much that means to me. this blog - well, you guys, really - has gotten me through some shit. but that’s all i’ll say on that.

mini hiatus notice

Guuuhhh I hate to do this considering I just got active on this account, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

I will be taking a trip for my birthday starting Friday July 21st, and I’ll come back Wednesday the 26th. Since this is gonna be a pretty busy trip and I don’t think I can really bring my laptop with me (since the screen is broken and has to be hooked up to another monitor/tv to work), I will probably not be able to be active during this time. I’ll be present via mobile, and able to chat on d.iscord and stuff, but I won’t be able to answer threads or anything.

I plan to have everything completed before I leave, so hopefully I shouldn’t leave any of you hanging!

Sombra’s bluffing, and she knows full well that it’s probably beyond obvious. But it’s hard to care so much about keeping the mask in place when she’s so shaken and it’s already lined with hairline fractures. Unable to stomach the sight any longer, she turns away from the rubble that was once the Overwatch headquarters, a place she would have dared to call home if she was just a bit braver.

It’s safe to assume that Angela’s words are directed to herself as much as they are to Sombra. An attempt at finding comfort or solace or assurance in the midst of a situation devoid of a single positive thing. This makes Sombra’s response seem even harsher than she’d really intended, but she’s tired and drained, and no effort will be made to sound apologetic for it. Instead, she offers a hand on the doctor’s shoulder, in hopes it will convey the message for her that she, too, is looking for that reason to keep going. That maybe, just maybe, they can find it together.

A gust of wind from between her lips knocked a purple strand out of Sombra’s face. The gaze revealed by the action couldn’t have been more disinterested if she tried. It was unfortunate, really, that someone who so preferred to be on the sidelines or behind the scenes had gotten herself pulled smack dab in the middle of things.

“Why do I seem to have a talent for always getting in the middle of people’s ridiculous plans?”

The question is an uttered gripe, directed more at herself than at him. If she’s being honest, she doesn’t totally mind being swept up in pranks or practical jokes like this from time to time ( chalk it up to a very bad case of f.o.m.o ), especially when no one is really getting hurt. What she does mind, is when it interrupts her work. The sooner this is over with the better.

“So what is your plan exactly? Might as well help you so it doesn’t end up a total disaster.”

“What the hell did this guy think was going to happen? That he would get some kind of fame for terrorizing people? Become para siempre inmortal? What an idiot.”

They’re discussing the aftermath of Overwatch’s last mission, and some of the reports have left Sombra with a sick feeling in her stomach. In an effort to escape custody, the man they’d set out to stop had set off a secondary bomb. Not only did he vanish before the team could get to him, the blast had taken the lives of a few civilians, and injured others. She’d certainly done her share of not-so-good things in the past, but nothing like this.

Her tongue met the roof of her mouth, a soft tsk resulting. The nerve of some people.

“Well, doesn’t matter, does it? I’ll find him before he can even form a thought about doing something like this again. Do we have any more personal information I can use to track this cabrón down?”

Feet that had moments ago been pacing anxiously come to a stop at his words. Thoughts, racing like electric currents in her mind, go missing too. It’s like the entire world that was spinning out of control around her suddenly and abruptly stops, and she’s gone toppling to the ground.

She should’ve known better than to think she had him fooled. Should’ve known he would figure her out faster than she could crack code. It was a long time ago that she stopped being quite as mysterious to him as she used to be. There really should’ve been no way for this plan to work out the way she imagined. Even if she had managed to get away from him, he would’ve found her before long - he was one of the only few in the world quite so good at tracking people down as she was.

Words come to her slowly, the ones she deems right to say, anyway. When she’s strung them together in her mind, in a fashion she hopes will be acceptable, she turns back to face him, doing her best to remain impassive. It’s a hard to do when she can understand what he’s thinking beneath that neutral expression he always wears with her.

She hates that she’s about to be so harsh, but maybe, just maybe, it really will be for the best.

“Why are you scared? Because you’ll be alone again? You didn’t seem to have a problem with that when we found you. In fact, almost seemed like you preferred it that way.”

She needs to get away. Never thought she would say it, but she does. This life, the way she’s living, it has become too much - Talon has become too much. And she doesn’t want to drag him into this with her, he doesn’t need that. If he comes with her, they’ll be more than wanted, they’ll be hunted, by the world’s most infamous criminals and assassins. And she can’t won’t let him take that step with her.

                                                                             Even if it means losing him in the process.
