Elliott performs an antiquated version of masculinity for gender reasons I think.

His specific gender is "fairytale prince", not just "man", and he presents himself accordingly because it feels more authentic to him as a person than the current standards of masculinity.

However he is also autistic and does not realize that sometimes he comes off as pretentious due to acting this way.
