I always get questions about my brush settings, so I thought I’d share some brushes I’ve fiddled around with myself and use religiously, mostly for sketching and can be great for inking. Have some characters I don’t draw enough of at all. Here are the textures for these. Ink/Brush pen and Chalk.

yeah so a while back i found this beautiful marker tool setting on tumblr somewhere and IT MAKES THE MOST GORGEOUS LINES

EDIT: lol don’t make the size 120! I use 8-20 depending on what I’m lining

For best results, I recommend using the SAI marker tool for sketching and “lining.”

just adjust opacity and size depending on how crisp lines you want

uhh, you can use mine if you’d like?

You have to add smudges though if you really want it to look like a pencil

also if you have photoshop, you can make it look a lil more like it’s been scanned in if you shift the channels a pixel or so like people do to make the 3D effect

‘idk line v2’ is a brush I made, it’s just:

If you’ve not installed a sai brush before, you just need to go to your SAI directory

(usually in appdata/local/systemax/easy paint tool sai or appdata/local/zame/paint tool sai english pack.) (Type “%appdata%” into your start bar to jump to the folder to have a look)

And save that image as a .bmp in the elemap folder. You then need to restart sai, but open it by using ‘start-sai.exe’ as that updates your config files.

Because this didn’t come in my SAI and I bet it didn’t with other people’s, here’s a pack of more textures (including the lava one!!!). Go to your SAI folder and just dump the ones you’d like in the brushtex folder (or w/e you have it called)

THANKS so much ;; well… I am not sure if they have updated much but here you go. I added my wacom pen properties too so that you get the idea of my true tablet settings. These are the brushes I mostly use! Pencil, brush, blur, marker, Maalaus ( meaning painting ) and weird watercolor cloudy brush. Also for the last two brushes and textures used in them, I got from THIS tutorial. So thanks to Bluekomadori for those.

These are the brush settings I have found and adjusted myself over the years. I’m pretty sure that the sketch one is just a modified version of makanidotdot’s. I can’t take full credit for them, but I hope they are useful all the same!

(also the paint brush works best for me at a smaller size, and on S-4 in the stabilizer. I usually sketch on a lower setting like 15.)

I’ve been seeing a lot of Big Hero 6 concept art and I wanted to set a brush to kind of mimic the graphite style of some of the sketches. I don’t have a “fully functional” version of SAI, so I tried to make this as simple as possible.

Hello thanks for sending me an ask! My apologies for replying so late!I only use the brush and pencil tool to draw and paint. Both of these are default brushes that come with SAI, I just tweaked the settings a bit :^’)For coloring I use the HSV and RGB slider to adjust the colors i use. It’s a life saver for me!
