"Skate or die, yo."
Guess Iâll die.

âA baguette is a loaf of bread that is long and narrow. Itâs specifically made in France, but you can get it in some bakeries. Or order it online,â Joshua explained, ignoring the first thing Roxas had said completely.
âWe should be in the cathedral right now. You can hear the bells, right?â Joshua saw a window and hurried over to it, stopping so he could look out onto the city. He didnât say anything but looked immensely satisfied.
âI donât see the appeal in a loaf of bread that looks different,â Roxas grumbled to himself idly. Joshua was making it out to be something really good and special, but on its own, it definitely didnât sound like that.
âCathedral?â Roxas asked, following just after Josh to the window to gaze out himself. He wasnât sure what to expect, but he had to hope it didnât look as dull as the rest of this corridor did so far.
layersofuntruth:
âI placed us in an empty part of a building so we wouldnât draw attention to ourselves. Donât worry.â He drew his hand out to give him a dismissive wave. âCome along, letâs see if we can find our way out.â
And so, Joshua started down the corridor, expecting his Conductor to follow him obediently.
âI wonder if we can get a baguette.â
âIf we canât find our way out, I think itâll be safe to assume you took a wrong turn into horror hell again.â Not that they went out very much, but still, Roxas liked dragging Josh through the dirt sometimes.
Roxas followed promptly after, nevertheless. âA baguette? Whatâs that?â
layersofuntruth:
âPerfect. Close your eyes.â Joshua gave him an amused smirk and took his wrist. The two of them were both engulfed in a bright light and vanished from the streets.
When the light faded, they were in some sort of empty hall. Stone walls and floor surrounded them and it was silent save for the loud sound of bells coming from far above them. Joshua released him and replaced his hand into his pocket. âYouâve never been to France, correct? Since Sora and Riku did such a good job waking this world up, I figure that it might be nice to sight-see.â
As the light dissipated, Roxas gazed around the corridor they were in with a look with slight curiosity. He didnât recognize the place, nor the name of it either. France? No, heâd never heard of it.
âFrance? I donât think I have.â He shifted his gaze back to his Composer. âIf this is all it has to offer though, then I think weâre better off heading back home.â
layersofuntruth:
âYouâll change your mind once you find out what I have in mind, my dear Conductor.â He extended his hand for Roxas to take. âWhy not indulge me for a little while, at least?â
âI indulge you all the time, Josh.â ...Well, it was likely he wouldnât stop insisting until Data-Roxas agreed, so -- âUgh, fine. But no round trips to the cannibal dimension again.â
layersofuntruth:
âWhat about Shibuya? Do you think my city so flimsy that she couldnât withstand a few days of my absence? Do you think I havenât set up the necessary precautions?â
âNo, Roxas. Now is the most opportune time for a little get-away.â
Joshua smirked at him and rested his hands in his pockets. âBesides, you need to get out more. Itâs an intervention purely for your benefit.â
â...Fair point.âÂ
Data-Roxas shook his head and folded his arms over his chest. âStill -- Iâm fine here. I donât want to go anywhere else.â

agh soRA WHAT THE HECK STOP IT YOU IDIOT
layersofuntruth:
âYou heard me. Weâre about to embark upon an adventure that would make Captain Ahab himself jealous.â
â...What about Shibuya?â
....What.
âCan we take cheesy pictures in that photo booth? I promise to keep silly faces to a minimum.â
âWhy do you want to take pictures with me so bad?â He mulls over the idea in his head briefly, before huffing a sigh. â...Fine. But donât try and pull a fast one like you usually do.â
layersofuntruth:
Roxas, I thought we agreed to never talk about that again.
Thereâs only room for one adored goddess of Shibuya and itâs certainly not some floozy named Pamela.
Well, it had to be someone. Youâre the farthest thing from an adored goddess, so inevitably a plant rose up to take the role.
Still, I donât want to deal with two of you. The snark factor would probably overload my CPU.
layersofuntruth:
One of me is far from enough. Can you imagine how much fun it would be? We could get so much done!
Havenât we learned from that one universe about how multiple Joshes is a bad thing? Come on, no need to replicate it.
layersofuntruth:
@datumroxas
Soâhow does two Joshuas sound to you?
No. I donât know what the context for this is, but the answer is absolutely no. One of you is enough.
(ಠâżâź )=â
This is... so like you. Get it the heck away from me.
layersofuntruth:
Me? Fabricate an illustrious lie about the heartfelt emotions that pass between us every time we meet? Never.
I look forward to watching you crush the dreams of all eleven-year olds in the arcade. Letâs be off.
The eleven-year-olds need to step up their game. Itâs the twenty-something year olds Iâm mostly competing against, I bet.
Anyways, lead the way. You still know this place best.
layersofuntruth:
AÂ âtiny fraction of a secondâ doesnât warrent longing stares at a window. However, perhaps it will make you feel better to know that I was also staring longingly out my own window at an advertisement for the new Tin Pin game, that is.
Either way, would you like to accompany me to the arcade? I think itâs about time you showed those machines whoâs boss again.
Now youâre just making stuff up. There was no longing stares nor staring out windows. Just brisk thoughts about wondering where you were after all of this time.
Ugh... Fine, but only because itâs been a while since Iâve played those games, and my highscores are probably long gone.
layersofuntruth:
Now, Now, you know it doesnât work that way. Iâve already felt your lonely heart reaching out for me. I would have to be some kinda monster to leave now!
Uh, right. Maybe I missed you for a tiny fraction of a second, but the instant you came back that was totally wiped away again. Especially with an entrance like that.
