To put it simply, that was what it was.Â
Their closest representative to God, to the almighty Father, slain at the hands of a sinner! Of a demon! How could this have happened! How could they, the lambs of God, carry on without their Shepherd!
A woman stood at the front of the gathering in the church. The gathering that come together in fear and mourning for their leader, for their dear Shepherd. Voices murmured and swirled about, each and every person deeply troubled by what had happened. Before long the great building they stood in echoâd with a disturbing mix of sentiments:
One calling for mourning.
One calling for forgiveness.
Yet, this woman stood at the front of the pack, listening to their worries and concerns and wishes. She stood there in silence. Waiting.Â
And as more and more people noticed her presence, they became quieter and quieter until it felt that even breathing was far too loud. Until the silence was painful and deafening.
And that women, commanding the full attention of the church spoke.Â
âToday. Today we have lost our guide in this world. Today we have lost our Shepherd. Today we have become lambs lost in a world out to devour us.â
âToday. Today the darkness has taken our light. It has swallowed it whole, and left us with nothing.â
âToday. Today we are frightened. Today we cower in fear. Today we wonder about the future and itâs uncertainties.â
âWe all who stand here, we all are one tiny flame. Each and everyone of us is a small flame that could be snuffed at a momentâs notice and devoured by the darkness. But we all stand here. A single flame on itâs own is nothing. But many flames together is a great fire that can banish the darkness.â
âToday we have lost our guiding light. We lost them to the hands of a demon.â
âBut fear not my children! We have come together. We have mourned their loss. Now it is the time to think of the future!â
âWe shall take vengeance! On those whom we ought to! On those demons who took them from us! On those who seek to devour us! We will carry on our Shepherdâs legacy! We shall carry on their will!â
âWe will not let ourselves be snuffed out!â
