The only thing that silenced it was the hamburger being shoved into her mouth. She didn’t even digest the huge bite she took before continuing. “You know she can fuck you up in a minute. Us small girls are more powerful than you think.” Gesturing with the sandwich as she chewed and talked, she placed it back down as she finally swallowed.

His laugh finally broke free from his throat, and he shook his head in defiance. "No. She caught me off guard. The shiner wouldn't be so noticeable if it was a fair fight. Besides; it was cake, cake can wash off. She took it a little far with the payback." He was still laughing, though. Dauntless didn't know when to quit, and he was definitely lumped in that category. "Oh, please. I could take you any day of the week." He teased with a grin.
