1 week back from easter break. Almost finished one stone ring with crown setting.

Backlog of stuff I’ve done part 3/3

Finished the giant ring I was commissioned for.

A German guy in town has a large collection of turquoises and wanted one of the biggest ones set in a sterling signet ring. The main word used in his initial pitch was ”massive“ and I believe I fulfilled on that front.

The interior was carved out and oxidized. And yet even hollowed out the ring still weights 32grams + the stone.

So far I’ve finished a forged brass bangle and silver ring.

Last part of that assignment is to make a 1 stone ring with a crown setting.

Off for the holidays

I finished the silver bracelet last Friday

And I finished the wax model for a signet ring ordered by a customer.

Its absolutely massive and in its current state is gonna weigh 55grams after casting.

He wants it in silver and we’re going to discuss pricing after the new year.

Latest addition to my bench

Forged and soldered bronze bell, made mostly for fun but was also a product test.

Conclusion is that it took too many hours to produce but that make the individual parts in a softer metal/wax and send them to be cast in bronze.

Also progress report on latest task.

I’ve also begun on the next one which is a bracelet with roughly 250 soldering points.

As a complete aside I also started on a little side project purely for fun.

A forged bronze bell (included early sound demo). I got to the rough polish before the weekend. I’ll polish it to a shine and hang it up somewhere on my bench.
