so it basically was proven that armand got himself all set up in alex's brain for play time in order to fuck with lestat so....there's gonna be aftermath of that now i fear also daniel's "did she give you the autism gift" dan you're funny if you didn't think he was already autistic (as I said to @exfrontman: what if alcohol is just his special interest!) i dont think alex yet regrets what he did - but that's because i dont think he's feeling a lot right now. he's obviously with lestat and the band still, and i think with time he'll find himself again. i think that "self" isn't going to be a healthy version of himself. i hope someone puts two and two together and in finding himself alex can also want revenge on armand but maybe i am projecting LOLOL trading two violent dads for two different violent dads is wild but works

RANDOM SETTINGS PROMPTS: ACCEPTING

@redstrng sent: [ 11PM ] the backseat of a car parked in the pouring rain on a lonely road.

Rain was beating down fast on the car; there was something about that sound it made on the roof that Stiles enjoyed. It brought an odd sense of comfort. A content sigh fell from his lips as he stretched himself out more, his legs coming to rest on Alex's lap.

❝ I don't think the rains stopping anytime soon.❞ His tongue came out to wet his bottom lip out of habit, eyes searching into they met Alex's. ❝ We should do something to kill the time...❞

sometimes the best things came as both a surprise and on the road. his own feet are up on the center console, ankles crossed and eyes closed as he just listens to the sounds of the rain in the lull of their conversation.

" hm? " alex peaks one eyes open, a dopey grin curling up on one side of his face. " got any ideas? " his eyes open as he slowly looks down to glance at his lap, and back up to stiles. they keep finding themselves in these situations where the obvious answer is hidden in their pants. but alex doesn't want to be presumptuous. maybe stiles just wants to. . . talk.

❝ it won't. would you like to know what will happen? ❞ the stillness with which he operates grows around them, cocooning the tender cadence of his voice and arun, he settles back into the booth with a quiet finality. when he speaks, it's with utter cognizance of someone older, more wizened, that the young thing that sits across from alex. ❝ your body will fuse with it's weight, it will bow under the burden and it will warp. the years are kind now, alex, but they won't be so kind when all of this resentment becomes poison to feed off of. his shadow becomes parkinson's. it becomes a colonoscopy bag at fourty and an autoimmune disease that rids you of your ability to do much of anything at fifty. slowly, over a decade, your fingers will curl inward where you grasp him and they will stay that way until you die. cut the cord or it will wrap around your neck and that is where it will stay. ❞

he takes a drag from the cigarette, blowing a puff of smoke out into the night air. for a moment, while listening to arun speak, he watches the smoke disappear. he wants all of this to be that smoke. to be able to be better like arun is saying. . . but he doesn't get it. how is any of that possible? how do you just let go like that when holding on is all you've known?

" that's. . . " the many descriptions of decay settle in his mind, and his finger taps against the coffee cup before taking a sip. arun is right, but all of that is still a lot to take in. " i have no idea how to cut that cord. i mean this is. . . this is all i've known. " his mind wanders away from his brother, and to other important pieces of his world. to his friendship with salamander. to the lies of singer. to the yearn of his heart for tc. does all of that change if he finds a way to become this different person?

There's a sound of protest as he steals the bottle. Saved from being shoved off the car only because he has the good sense to hand it back. They hold it just out of reach this time as they take a swig. Straight fucking vodka without so much as a chaser must be some kind of new low. "Yeah, yeah. You're scum. What else is new. She didn't know that when you popped out? I mean, look at your face!" Big doe eyes that could put any puppy to shame. Curly hair that immediately became unruly past the ears, and a dopey smile. Alex was more doodle than man. Might as well have found him at the pound, yet, Tough Cookie couldn't recall a time they had been happier.

"Planning on introducing me to the fam, are we? You do that with all your roommies?" Their leg brushed up against his. Weaving itself between his legs as if to say 'you do this will all your roommies too?'

" he shoves their side, but it's all in jest. the big doe puppy dog eyes ( both animals a perfect description ) set on them. he's quiet for a moment, considering the question that lingers between them. introducing them to anyone would involve going to montreal, and right now he's not even sure they're going to make it to new orleans in one piece, let alone back up to canada. so he just chuckles and shifts to lay his head on their stomach. the clouds shift over them, drifting slowly through the sky. they should go walk and see if someone will give them gas. . . but this is too nice.

he decides to ignore all of the questions for now. " i bet lar would venmo me for gas money. "

also important things while i'm talking about it that i might have mentioned on a post but it deserves its own -

while alcohol and hard drugs are a big NO in his sober era, alex (like many others in recovery) still uses nicotine and weed. considering his addiction was to a depressent, and sativa is a stimulant, it does not give the desired effects. it is also nonaddictive. while nicotine IS addictive, it is not uncommon for recovered addicts to smoke something as a better vice. it is addictive, but nicotine does not change your personality.

he prefers a vape or a cigarette for nicotine, but he prefers an edible for weed. for perhaps obvious reasons, when he can drink his weed it's even better. he can have a thc drink while others get loaded.

one of the things that is growing to be important to me is that alex can be a big hypocrite (which is why he's going to make a fantastically complicated vampire). for me it's in this straight-edged vegan piece. he collects things of morality and pushes them onto himself like he can handle them all. the truth of addicts is that when you let go of one addiction you always find another. veganism for me stands for moral ground, but he doesn't stay vegan all the time.

his favorite food is a greesy cheese pizza. sometimes he craves a milkshake. it's better to eat that than grab a bottle from the liquor store right?

so yeah. hypocrisy. we will see where that goes.
