There's one aspect of tumblr we're not grateful enough for and that's the fact you can minimize the app for any amount of time without auto refresh causing you to lose your place on the dashboard.

Meta Glasses should not be normalized.
The meta glasses are genuinely the most stupid thing ive seen- we don’t need every single thing to be converged with technology unless it can genuinely enhance the product in a way that makes it worth the money.
As far as i can see, the meta glasses are a creepy tool that anyone can use to film people without their consent, i don’t care if it makes filming “hands free” because its so obviously a weak justification for this weird gadget.
In my opinion, being able to buy and wear glasses with a built in camera is something which condones predatory behaviour, especially as there are ways to prevent others from knowing the camera is on.
The other day i saw little shade dots which you can stick to the flashing light of the glasses which tells you they are filming, and by that i can tell the designers did not think the device through enough due to the blindfold of the money that could be made from the product, and they simply don’t care about the human right for privacy, if it means they can make more money than they could possibly need.
Furthermore the random technological development of products is simply another technique to feed into consumerism and for businesses to make more money, not taking into account how damaging the device actually is.
We need another romantic movement- against things like AI and these unnecessary and stupid “tools” which capitalism will have you convinced are vital for the life we live.

As of today I am officially leaving all Meta platforms (yes including Facebook that everyone makes excuses for using like Marketplace and Facebook groups). Meta was a sponsor of yesterday's shitshow UFC Freedom 250 ring fight. Their name was on the floor of the octagon.
Not only that but Mark Zuckerberg was there in the audience and watched the UFC fight. And probably saw when that guy yelled in the mic that Michelle Obama is a man.
Words can't describe just how much I hate Meta. I feel so enraged. I'm ashamed I even joined Threads and Instagram in the first place. Time to leave and focus on other platforms like Tumblr and Pinterest. Maybe YouTube but not sure. Never again. NEVER AGAIN.
just reactivated my instagram because i needed some way to be able to keep in contact with my uni over the summer and i am immediately reminded of why i keep deactivating it for months at a time. because i felt my brain tingling from excitement just trying to decide if i should repost something or not. fucking hell.
i hid the app on my phone and put a time limit on it but i am still extremely upset of purely having this app installed on my phone. and even though i unfollowed/removed like 50% of my followers on there but it doesn’t make me feel any less exposed and umbilically connected to everyone in the whole wide world. i don’t like it. it’s like the presence of the app alone is exposing me.
I didn’t even have to fill it all in the search…
