SO, LONG STORY SHORT. CODY IS WAY STRONGER THAN I THOUHT HE WAS.
This episode provided a lot of information on Cody! Especially his stats! Iâve established before he can carry around 275 lbs in an earlier post (link). BUT KNOW WE KNOW HEâS WAY STRONGER THAN THAT.
More on Codyâs strength! The type of injury beanpole received appears to be a stable distal closed transverse tibia fracture.
It takes 218 pounds of force from a hammer to break a healthy adult tibia. Cody can generate 218 lbs of force from standstill.
Using panels from the comic I concluded the rope/cord is around 1cm or 1/2inch in width, and doesnât appear to have and sort of weaving, twisting, or braiding.
This means the detail was either excluded, or Cody is being bound by a cable or cord, rope usually has texture. But, for the sake of simplicity, weâre going to assume itâs rope. Rope is easier to find measurements on tensile strength and how much force is needed to break it.
Common natural fibres for rope are manila hemp, hemp, linen, cotton, coir, jute, straw, and sisal. Synthetic fibres in use for rope-making include polypropylene, nylon, polyesters, polyethylene, Aramids, and acrylics.
The most commonly manufactured rope type in general is Nylon.
Braided ½â nylon rope has a working load/tensile strength of 4,000-5,000 lbs. Hecc. That would mean to break the rope, Cody would have to exert an average of 4,500 lbs of force by moving maybe only half an inch to generate that much force.
AND IN THE NEWEST EPISODE, HE JUST SAYS:
CODY CAN LIKELY EXERT 4,500 LBS OF FORCE BY ONLY MOVING HALF AN INCH.
