Led this one at Camp Calumet this morning for church. I love this tune, and love that it doesn't talk down to its audience. Sings equally well for 2nd graders and 70 year olds. I want to write stuff like this!

Man... This blows my mind. I don’t care if this stuff is auto-tuned or hyper-edited, just these arrangement ideas themselves are amazing.
"America the Beautiful"
“America” (My Country 'Tis of Thee) fingerstyle!
Lyle Brewer at Club Passim. Amazing fingerstyle guitar!
"Always" by Irvin Berlin, for fingerstyle ukulele.
We should read music in the same way that an educated adult will read a book: in silence, but imagining the sound.

Finished this great, quick book last night!
My 3rd & 4th graders are doing a curriculum that starts with mi-re-do this year. We were already doing ‘Chatter with The Angels’ and segueing into 'Good News’ for our upcoming concert, when I stumbled on this great video of the tune. AND the first section is in G, the same key they are singing and playing recorders in. I also love these cube-y videos that kind of guide the students in knowing what to listen for. Lots of great discussion about this in class today!
Danny Barker!
My cute kid, rocking out.
Recording Greg Woodsbie for Shake That Thing! The tune is ‘Eh Las Bas’, a Danny Barker classic performed by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Kid Ory, and others.
