2016 in books and music This year I saw lots of great photobooks, but in the end I think there are only three that really made me think, and come back to. And only one is a photo book from 2016. So I decided to go straight to the point. One photobook from 2016 : Valentina Abenavoli - Anaesthesia One photobook from 2015 that I missed : Barry van der Rijt - Exquisite Errors One companion piece to a 2016 contemporary art exhibition : Laura Poitras - Astro Noise: A Survival Guide for Living Under Total Surveillance And also 10 albums, for a very rich musical year : Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition David Bowie - Blackstar Ian William Craig - Centres Jenny Hval - Blood Bitch Katie Gately - Color Paul Jebanasam - Continuum Roly Porter - Third Law Street Sects - End Position Tim Hecker - Love Streams The Body - No One Deserves Happiness

From my series "Wolfgang" based on the CERN archives. Wolfgang Ernst Pauli, one of the founders of quantum physics, was nicknamed the "Conscience of Physics". But he was also known among his peers for something a bit less "scientific". Legend says that when Pauli entered a room, experiences would fail and machinery would break down. His colleagues jokingly called this phenomenon "The Pauli Effect". http://davidfathi.com/wolfgang.php

I've put online a new version of "Wolfgang", my series based on the CERN archive. Still a work-in-progress, but getting closer.
