↳ Nani smiled, if slightly, fingers rubbing along her arm. It was either; go to the beach and enjoy the water for a solid hour and a half, or wait, pick up Lilo, grab something to eat and then go surfing for however long - until dark even. She much preferred the latter option.

Technically, it wasn’t a date - Lilo was going to be there. Though, she figured, from David’s perspective it’d mean something if she agreed.

”Mmm,” she itched at her hip, contemplating the standing offer. “…Alright. I’ll go n’ pick up Lilo when she’s finished, and we’ll meet youuu…” Turning about to suggest a place to eat, the first place to come into view was some sort of Lobster shack. “There? And we can go surfing afterwards?”

"Great its date-" Pearly whites flashed back before he turned and made his way to leave, somehow he knew that Nani would want to bring Lilo along with them. He waved back without stopping as his feet picked up spped "A hui hou!"

It didn't take David long to clean up and get ready, of course he was excited. That went without saying but the fact that he was here at least 15 minutes before Nani and Lilo was was a little outrageous. As he walked into the lobster shack his nerves only grew.

He was quickly rushed to the nearest table, to which he ordered himself a glass of water and waited for Nani and her younger sister to show up.

↳ Nani arched a brow, eyes roaming along the black soot still tainting his skin. “Yes that. You probably breathed a ton of it in,” her upper lip curled, nose wrinkled.

”Yeah! That’s what I meant. Wash it off in the water,” she chuckled. “Oki’ let’s go. Since you asked nicely.”

"only a little bit, It hasn't been there too long." raising his hands behind his back he gave Nani an eager smile. this was everything David needed, Nani and some really sweet waves.

"okay, okay grab your things and I'll meet you down by the shore in- say 15?" without waiting for a response he turned his heel, about ready to bolt for his car and head out, but something clicked.

"unless you wanna wait for Lilo" he turned around and faced Nani again. "I mean- I could run home and catch a shower real quick and we can grab a bite to eat. If you want that is"

↳ Pausing mid-step, Nani turned on her heel, to find David approaching rapidly, covered in… soot?

”Again?” she breathed, swiping a finger along his arm, soot from the fire rubbing off and onto her fingertip. “Oi,” wiping the substance onto her jeans, she sighed, folding her arms.

"I have to pick Lilo up from dance class in a few hours but… I guess so — You could use a wash.”

“Come onnnnnn," He drew out the last few syllables of his words before giving her a playful nudge. "You know all work and no play will drive you lo lo"

"Oh this?" he glanced to the black markings on his skin before looking back to Nani. "If you've only got a few hours I don't have time for a wash, now do I? Besides the waves will wash it off anyway."

"Aye Nani! wait up!" he chased after the girl trying to keep up with her. "I got off a little earlier than expected, incident with some fire again- don't worry no one was hurt I-" He let out a little chuckle as he rested his arm behind his head. "You wanna catch some waves?"
