Bro Skeppy is good at pvp!!! He's clever!!!

He has a very good skill that George, Sapnap, Sam and Bad dont: assuming and planning that no one will come for rescue and that someone will keep chasing you down

The hunters are all so used to having each other and that Dream won't hunt them for long/far so they just need to create enough distance that he will no longer consider it worth it, so they would never do something like covering themselves after a fall
