Your art of the Mistrian bachelors is so cool! You captured their personalities with their poses very well. <3

Although, it’s my first time seeing someone portray Hayden as a shorter bachelor (usually, he’s only second to Cal, based on their sprites and avatars in-game). I’m just curious how you decided on their heights and scaling? Sorry if this sounds weird. I’m a bit shy but enjoy hearing people’s headcanons on this game.

Omg I love yapping about my art, I usually don't think people are interesting in hearing it, so I don't bother most of the time XD

I knew that I definitely wanted to add a lot of variation in facial features and body types. If I made everyone conventionally attractive and tall, people would definitely like it as well, but it feels like a lazy choice as an artist, and I would not be satisfied with the result. And if there is one thing worse than people not liking art you thought turned out well, it's them liking the art you don't lol.

I wanted each character to fit their personalities, as well as their walks of life. As much as I like the original art style, a lot of the facial features and bodies are extremely similar, especially with the romance canditates.

For caldarus, he is big ass dragon, so making him very tall was a pretty straightforward decision. Due to him being very weak and going from an immortal dragon form to a mortal human one, it seemed fitting to make him very skinny and weak. The gangly look also adds to the non-human vibe.

Hayden's original design is the most diverse bodytype from the romance canditates imo, so I wanted to be pretty faithful to that. I made him very short and stocky, cause in my hea, he has been working on this family farm since he was young. Farm work is very intensive, resulting in stunted growth. (Also i am a contrarian, so if everyone makes him tall, I make him short)

Balor is a traveller and has clearly has had some physical alterations in the past, so him being of a nimble build made sense to me. He just seems like the guy that could slip out of any situation if he wants.

Ryis has a similar built to Balor but with broader shoulders, as a result of all that woodworking. you cannot be doing that without building some upper body strength. In my head he was one of those teens that got an sudden growth spurt and turned out very skinny. He has to put in effort to keep some meat on his bones, so he is toned but not overly muscular.

Short march was definitely inspired by some transmasc headcanons i saw floating around, i just really feel like it fits his vibe. The extra big arms were inspired by me liking to draw big arms, total fanservice to myself, whoops. It also works with being a backsmith, it's incredible taxing on your arms.

For Eiland I wanted him to look very friendly, so big eyes and more boxy body. In my head he has no real muscle definition, just a bit of pudge. Soft looking people in formal attire is also a godtier combo imo
