Me: I am scared...they also want to grow organs in pigs...human organs.
Alison: the poor pigs
Me: they wont know it...so,get the organ...put the rest into the butchery...let those humans eat it and make a profit.
Alison: lol, this is making me want to be a vegetarian
Me: I am worried about humanity...
Witch Tip
Witchcraft is meant to enhance your life. If practicing becomes a chore, it’s okay to take a break for however long you need. You’ll find you way back to your path when you are ready to continue.
A dream continues...
Utrecht Baptismal Vow
The Utrecht Baptismal Vow is an old Saxon Baptismal Vow from the 9th century which was rediscovered not long ago in Mainz Germany. It shows clearly who Christians believed to be the Devil.
Part of the vow reads:
“End ec forsacho allum dioboles uuercum and uuordum, Thunaer ende Uuôden ende Saxnôte ende allum thêm unholdum thê hira genôtas sint”
which translates into modern dutch:
“En ik verzaak alle duivelse werken en woorden Donar en Wodan en Saxnot en allen deze ontrouwen die hun genoten zijn.”
which translate into english:
“I renounce all the deeds and words of the devil, Thunear, Wōden and Saxnōt, and all those fiends that are their companions”
Ever since the cutting of the Donar’s Oak in Hesse Germany around 700 CE there was this struggle going on in the population about the old Gods and the new God. The Gods where known and called by their heathen names but later just referred to as Devils or as we say in german: “Teufel”.
Every future contact to the old German gods and believes were condemned as having contact with the Devil.
Once upon a time there was a goddess who learned how to turn men into pigs. The other gods gently mocked her power, certain that such an act required no magic at all.
Circe was only pressing the right button and men do what they do best.
Somebody i met in a dream....a guide maybe?
did witches really meet at night on the hills celebrating?
You bet they did. Like we do today, People did like to meet at night on the hilltops. Celebrating, feasting, having sex....you name it. What we do today they did 1400 to 1700. No doubt about it.
Humans and Witches
In my researches about the witch burning time in Germany i found the whole range of human drama in relationship, unfortunate circumstances and events, condemnation, blame games and misconceptions as it is present in our modern time.
The people are in no way different when compared in the early modern period to us in the post modern.
Of course, we are more enlightened now, we have cars and journey faster than a horse can run. We send emails/sms faster than a letter pigeon can fly. We rather enjoy Game of Thrones on our TV screens than to find excitement at the market place when the occasional witch got burned.
Would you agree?
TUMBLR Witchy things
I got back after a longer absence....and it is so nice reading your postings about witchcraft.
A picture I made for a healing ritual.
The Norns and the Wyrd
Wyrd Bindrune
The Norns are mythological women of destiny, the three women of fate. The Norns are themselves no gods, they govern the fate and destiny of Gods and Men.
It is said that they represent the past, present and future…(from our modern understanding) It is also said that germanic people had no concept of the future as we have today.
So how do we have to look at the Norns who govern the past, present and future?
Urd, governs the past, the things that happened, our Destiny. If we look back we can clearly see what our Destiny looks like.
Verdendi, governs the present, the moment in time when things are actually happening. In german we say “das Werdende” or that what is emerging.
Skuld, governs what might come. The german word “die Schuld” means fault or debt, it implicates that what ever might happen is our fault or our debt we have to pay for our action and decisions.
The concept of Wyrd and the Norns is not to be understood as a concept of predestination, in fact it is the concept of action and reaction. Some people claim that the believe in the Wyrd and Norns is about fatalism. However, it is more about accepting what is happening and taking responsibility for our actions.
The past, the present, our choices and actions are affecting our future in a certain way. If we ask the Norns about our Wyrd it is not because of fortune telling and entertainment. We ask because we want to understand our Wyrd, destiny and fate.
High in the snowy back country of Germany children everywhere look forward to the early December feast day of St. Nicholas, that kindly gift bringer of ancient origin. But unlike other children Ger…
