I love that Sam and Jacob decided this scene needed to end with Louis holding him.

Lestat has been begging anyone-- but especially Louis-- to notice for over a hundred years, he never did. No one did.

Louis did his usual bullshit thing of 'how does this affect me,' and then watched as Lestat realises and collapses. And previous Louis would have just continued to push or walked away, but he's finally showing some growth here.

Louis sees his pain, realises 'oh fuck this man has been living with this burden for over 200 years and just realised that it's abuse and I'm screaming at him as he absolutely crumbles in front of me.' And then embraces and comforts him.

I loved this season. I love that we finally see some self-awareness and growth from these fuckers, and they finally start to understand that all they do is hurt each other.

And the two of them inserting that embrace where they both are realising 'oh fuck' is absolutely needed.
