“you’re trying to deny your attraction to me. understandable, but i see right through it.”
“You’re cute, I can admit that, but it doesn’t mean I’m interested. You know?”
“i–” noah just stared at his ex. he always knew that dax was calm when it came to arguments. but this, this was different. he hadn’t even flinched. noah kind of wanted a confrontation. to let all his anger out. because now there was even more than ever. the tip of the ice berg was merely touched at the last time they had met.
“are you not even– do you not know how i know where you live?” he was grasping at straws. wanting a confrontation. not ready to give up that easily. noah knew because one day he had watched followed dax on his way home. his breathing was still heavy. fingers were still curled into a fist. somehow, knowing the truth hurt even more. because now, there were even more feelings of worthlessness. “no. no. i am not going to leave. i need to– we need to–” words couldn’t form into sentences. there were too many thoughts running around in his head. “we need to settle this, dax. i’m not leaving until i finally get some closure. the maybe finally my heart can heal.”
“I’ve seen you lurking about.” Dax shrugged his shoulders, giving simple answers in the hopes Noah would just leave. He was about to jab in a sarcastic comments but Noah’s words caught him off guard and sent anger bubbling up in his stomach.
“You need closure? You?” His brows furrowed as he hopped up the couch. If Noah wanted to provoke anger then that’s what he was getting. “There is nothing to settle. I left! We broke up, that’s all there is to it!” He spat as his words shook with rage. “Poor Noah got dumped and he needs time to heal.” His words didn’t hold much truth but he just wanted Noah to feel the pain he felt. “You can have your fucking closure when I kill the hunters that took my family away from me. When I destroy their lives that’s when you can fucking heal, Noah.” He turned his back to him as he began to pace around his apartment. “I am not dealing with this. I am sorry you got caught up in all of this but you and your closure can kindly fuck off.”

had barely gotten any sleep. the slumber he had managed to fall into were plagued by strange dreams. creatures of the night stalking him like prey. the revelation by rita that supernatural beings existed wasn’t taken well by noah. not at all. there was one particular dream, though, that disturbed him. one of dax, turning into a wolf. with fur as black as goal and piercing red eyes. he had attacked him and noah woke with a start. falling back to sleep after that was impossible. so then he began to pace his apartment, piecing things together. fixing the puzzle.
it was nearly noon when noah finally worked it out. barely even a moment to think about his actions, the male fled his apartment. he practically ran through the streets. when he arrived at dax’s door, he burst through it dramatically. grateful that it was unlocked. “YOU’RE A MOTHERFUCKING WEREWOLF?!” he shouted at the younger male, pointing a finger at him. it all made sense now. his sudden new ‘family’. how he was always nowhere to be found once a month. how he always kept his anger under control, but when noah pushed him too far he had to always leave. everything just clicked in his brain. the only thing that didn’t, was why he kept it from him for so long. they had shared everything with each other. but obviously dax didn’t trust noah as much as noah had trusted him. no other words left his lips. only harsh breaths from anger. chest rising and falling in time.
Dax heard the angry footsteps marching towards his apartment and that scent couldn’t be anyone’s but Noah’s. He folded his arms across his chest as he got comfortable on his couch, quietly preparing for the rage induced yelling that would soon follow.
Sure enough the male came barging in and all Dax could do was sigh. So much for agreeing to stay away from one another. “Yeah, I am.” He answered calmly. Dax just knew he was going to get irritated and he needed to keep his cool. “I didn’t tell you because I wasn’t allowed to.” He answered even though the question was never asked and he was about to answer a few more. “I was turned at sixteen, we barley knew each other back then, I asked plenty of times if I could tell you and the answer was no every single time.” His voice shook as the memories came flooding back. “They were killed off because we’re werewolves and I was supposed to die with them but I didn’t so there’s that.” He refused to even look at Noah. “So there you have it, you can leave now.”
The vampire’s eyes narrowed slightly. There was something to his voice, something she hadn’t heard before. Only now when he spoke abou all the pain the hunters had caused. Vampires disliked them, but Max was aware that werewolves were a far easier target to hurt. Not because they were much weaker, but simply because they were more easily attached to others. The packs were an example. Vampires were mostly far more solitary. “Dax, be honest with me” the dark brunette spoke softly. “What did the hunters do to you?” she liked to think that the only reason she wished to know was for business reasons. For personal issues not to be involved in the matter, but perhaps deep inside she wished to know because she cared. To maybe even protect him when needed, but that she would never admit. “No more hiding, not from them. The hunters will become the hunted.”
Dax remained silent for a moment as he tried to gather his thoughts. She had a right to know in some sense, the two are plotting an elaborate plan and he supposed she needed to know his own personal vendetta. “They killed my pack.” He struggled to raise his voice above a whisper. “All of them died and the only reason I survived is because the hunter got cocky. I managed to injure him before I made a run for it.” His eyes drifted towards the floor with a heavy sigh. “We lived in the middle of nowhere so we couldn’t hurt anyone and yet still we’re killed off like flies.”
“why? i make you too nervous?”
"Yeah, you do. Not in a good way at all, more like a completely creepy way.”
“i was feeling a little off earlier. but seeing you has turned me back on.”
“Alright, I’m just going to pretend you’re not talking to me.”
A soft laugh escaped as she lightly shook her head. Getting back up from the kneeling position she had been in. “To be honest, I think I would be a little bit skeptic of me too if I were the wolf in the story” she replied, understanding his concern. It may have angered her normally, throw some vicious words but with Dax there was a different vibe. There was no fear or differences, just two slightly more complicated souls that happened to get along. Had an understanding. “If there is any vampire out there that is only slightly close to my age, they have surely been hunted down for quite a little while at least once. Otherwise, they have not been living at all. I can assure you that the vampires do not like any hunter out there. And your wolves? I can imagine the hunters looking for a fine rug every once in a while as well, or the one who killed there sheep. They see us as somethig entirly different, like animals.” the last sentence she spoke with disgust, keeping her jtemper down by clenching her hands into fists. “They hunt us like they hunt deer, but only in the most curel way. I’ve seen friends suffer before it all ended… I think we both know who the true animals are”
She was right. If they wanted to live then the hunters needed to be dealt with. They weren’t animals so they shouldn’t be hunted as such, right? He was still worried over this plan. How it would work and who got hurt in the process. He doubted if there was a peaceful way to go about this. “They shouldn’t be forgiven for the pain they’ve caused.” His personal views were getting far too involved but at this point he didn’t care. Dax was angry. If hunters weren’t around then he would still have his pack, his family. “You can count on me.” He sighed as he put both feet into this plan. The werewolf wouldn’t back out. “They need to be stopped and I think we can do that. Make them believe that they can’t mess with us anymore.”
“I grew up learning it was”
“I’m sorry to hear that. You shouldn’t have to live like that.”
He spotted a roll of gauze and started wrapping strands around his head. “It’s okay, mate. I can take it from here.” Twirling more of them around his bruised knuckles ( having cracked behind him during restraint ), he managed a soft smile. The blond extended a fully bandaged hand, like a white fingerless glove, to Dax. “I’m Dawson.”
“Okay.” Dax nodded as he took a step back and left him to continue to bandage himself up. He hoped it was nothing serious. When a hand extended out to him, the werewolf stared for a moment before gently taking hold of his and shaking his hand. He hoped he didn’t hurt him. “It’s nice to meet you.”
‘ dax come on your a LADY KILLER yours has to come off too. ’ a playful grin seems natural at this point around HER BETA. dimples appear and then disappear. ‘ yes. we do. nap time can happen after because somewhere in the span of not seeing you for a bit, i’m married? ’ it sounded like a question, but she was confident in such. she just wanted to hear his reply to such a bomb of a statement. his fake yawn is quite amusing and she only offers a playful eye roll grin replaced with a smug smirk. she waited for his reaction though her eyes became serious. focusing in on his expression.
“No way. The sweater stays on at all times. My ex barley managed to get me undressed.” He scoffed and shook his head as he tugged the sleeves of his jumper over his hands, to prove a point. Her next words took him by surprise and it took him a moment to fully realise what she was saying. “Married?” He repeated to make sure that’s exactly what she said. “Oh my god, really?” He smiled as he reached out for her hands and took hold of them. If she was happy then he was too. “Wow, are you happy? Who is it?”
@daxgreene
“Really wish you didn’t meet me like this, I swear I’m not this emotional all the time” she nervously said. “And I’m Evangeline”
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of.” He shook his head and chuckled. “Everyone cries. It’s not a sign of weakness or anything.” If only he could take his own advice.
His departure and arrival couldn’t have amounted to any more than three minutes. He’d seen vampires and witches, so perhaps the Flash was here with them too. Nothing was surprising anymore. He took the miniature kit without interrogation or hesitation. “Thanks, um ━━” A shortness of breath and lack of remembrance resulted in a lingering pause. “What’s your name again, mate ?”
“Oh, I’m Dax.” At least this time it seemed reasonable to forget and introduction. He hesitantly reached forward to pop open the med kit before looking through it for supplies, which was easy to do seeing as the other was holding it. “What’s your name?” He asked quietly as he ripped open some of the alcohol wipes and began the process of cleaning him up.
“That’s quite a sense of intuition you’ve got there. Mine tends to suck.” If he ever needed to find anything, he could always use a locator spell but he wasn’t too great at those. “That happens to me all the time. It’s a pleasure to meet you though Dax.” As he spoke, he held out a hand for the other man.
“Dumb luck, I guess.” He really needed to figure out a better excuse. It would be a lot easier if he knew who to trust instead. “Nice to meet you too.” He nodded with a smile. “Did you just move here?”
“That sounds pretty difficult. How do you find stuff on your own exactly?” Victor asked, tilting his head curiously. “Will do! I’m Victor by the way, I don’t think I’ve introduced myself yet.”
“Uh -- intuition?” It was a more plausible answer than the fact he followed most things by scent. “I always forget about introductions but I’m Dax.”
