Sharing bits and pieces of my maladaptive daydreaming with the fandom

Cecil Markowitz has „Free Palestine“ tattoed on his arm. He got it during a charity event, because his heart genuinly breaks for Gaza, but pissing off his Jewish adoptive parents was a nice added bonus. He has a lot of tattoes meant to piss off his Jewish parents.

When you go back to episode 2, the way Luke managed to convince other demigods to leave becomes quite clear.

He’s the first face they see, the nice calming presence someone who’s whole world just changed needs. He tells you things. Explains the world, to us the reader he’s exposition, to a camper he’s the leading authority on the demigod world. He controls the narrative these kids hear. Slowly he can even control what they believe—if he gets enough of their trust.

And this isn’t just for new campers, Hermes cabin canonically had the most kids leave. Luke’s kids. The kids who heard his speechs of glory and godly injustice for days, weeks, months, years. And now not only do you have Luke telling you about the gods and the world and their opinions, you also have Chris Rodriguez denouncing the food offerings and Ethan the quiet kid in the back who scoffs at names like “Zeus” and “Poseidon” and so on and so on.

Even if all those kids didn’t believe in what Luke taught, some did. And that’s enough to change the culture inside Cabin 11.

This isn’t to say that there was an oligarchy of some sorts within Cabin 11. With those who didn’t believe in Luke being scared into not talking no the opposite even. They all love him. His speeches are disguised as comforting words his reputation allows for you to put on the rose colored glasses he hands you because “surely the greatest swordsman wouldn’t hurt me” his understanding nature convinces you to vent your frustrations to him. And just like that you’re in it. Without him even having to say the words “i’m evil” your in it

So when he leaves, you all leave. Cuz he was helpful, cuz he was nice, cuz he understood. Because a life under him is certainly better than a life under the gods. Right?

I’m a big fan of this headcanon that Chris has some kind of „son of Hermes superpower” where he just knows exactly, where he is, like an internal gps. It explains why Luke would send him into the labyrinth and also why despite going absolutely INSANE he still walks out of the labyrinth right next to his childhood crush’s home, it was just the place he was instinctively drawn to, because he needed safety and nobody makes him feel as safe as Clarisse la Rue

Travis Stoll may seem like he doesn’t take anything seriously. He does have that general feeling about him. That he will never stop smiling, even if the world around him burns. Many relate it with a need of keeping his prankster, troublemaker, son of Hermes reputation. Only few know that it’s an effect and not a cause.

Travis and Connor’s mother was an airline pilot. She never cared much about being a mother, what she cared about was flying, above anything else. Maybe she was wrong for not caring about her sons or maybe it would be wrong to waste such a promising career over a byproduct of what was supposed to be the love of her life and instead turned into nothing. She didn’t know. Morals were never her thing anyway, flying was. So she handed two little boys to their grandmother and flew to all edges of the world. The summer grandma Stoll died was the summer Travis and Connor found Camp Half-blood. Their mother took a chance to send them to this “excellent boarding school” and she never looked back. First, calls were frequent, then, a little too far apart and then, Travis wasn’t even sure when they stopped altogether.

But Travis wasn’t the one to cry for his mommy. He was a demigod and he had a younger brother to care for. So, like a real son of god of liars, that he was,he mastered the art of pretending not to take anything seriously.

And so, he acted like he didn’t care. He didn’t care: about the war coming, about looming possibility of death, about all the unclaimed and children of minor gods that were slipping away, no matter how hard he tried, and he was their counsellor, and it was his responsibility to keep them, but he just couldn’t find a way to. He didn’t care about his treacherous brother, who betrayed him and left him in this hopeless situation to pick up the pieces or about this little children, that he practically helped raise, forced to become soldiers or about a certain daughter of Demeter accusing him and his siblings of being spies and breaking his heart into a thousand little pieces and he most definitely did NOT care about his mother.

Except he did.
