A strong tropical wave moving across Central America tonight into Friday will be attendant by heavy showers and thunderstorms, some possibly with gusty winds.
Tropical Storm Fay forms over the North Atlantic Ocean
It is the sixth earliest tropical storm to form over the Atlantic Ocean. A tropical storm warning has been issued from Cape May, New Jersey to Watch Hill, Rhode Island and also including Long Island, New York.
The system has sustained winds of 45 miles per hour and is moving north at a rate of 7 miles per hour. It is located at: Latitude 35.5 ° North, Longitude 74.9 ° West. Its minimum central pressure is 1005 millibars. The storm has broken the record as the earliest formed with the letter 'F', a record previously held by Franklin on July 22, 2005.Â
