Hey, by the way, that church belongs to my branch of Christianity and our Presiding Bishop (aka our version of the pope) is PISSED. PB Michael Curry grew up during the first Civil Rights Movement and is the first Black Presiding Bishop to lead the Episcopal Church. He speaks openly about the need for racial justice but rarely delves into the world of politics or politicians because he firmly believes in the separation of church and state (trying to merge those two is how we got Trump). Here is his statement from last night, it is the first time I have ever seen him denounce a specific politician-

First tweet: This evening, the President of the United States stood in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church, lifted up a Bible, and had pictures of himself taken. In so doing, he used a church building and the Holy Bible for partisan political purposes.
Second tweet: This was done in a time of deep hurt and pain in our country, and his action did nothing to help us or to heal us.
Third tweet: The Bible reaches us that “God is love.” Jesus of Nazareth taught, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The prophet Micah taught that the Lord required us to, “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.”
