Colored pencil on paper 39 x 43 inches. I wanted to reproduce a classical masterpiece with a renewed fresh technique and explore various aspects of the subject and prove that the boundaries of colored pencil are limitless. To capture the soft luminous glow, many layers of colored pencil were applied using non-directional backward S strokes.

This color pencil drawing was created on Stonehenge paper which is use for print making and pastel drawings. It was difficult work with due to the soft surface which can lift during the shading process. (The pencils are not part of the drawing).
