Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Eilean Donan Castle is a historic castle located on a small tidal island in the Scottish Highlands, where three sea lochs meet. It was originally built in the 13th century to defend the area against Viking invasions. The castle was destroyed in 1719 during a Jacobite uprising after being bombarded by British naval ships, and it remained in ruins for nearly 200 years. In the early 20th century, it was carefully restored, and today it is one of Scotland’s most iconic and photographed landmarks. 🏰🏴
