[FNAF:SB AU] Beyond a Miracle

Set 15 years after the events of the FNAF fanfic "The Superstar Miracle", Sunlight (formerly known as "Mini-Sun") and...

After much waiting, the sequel to The Superstar Miracle is finally out!

From the summary:

Set 15 years after the events of the FNAF fanfic "The Superstar Miracle", Sunbeam (formerly known as "Mini-Sun") and Elise Taylor are now a couple, and they even have children: Sunlight, a plucky young feminine animatronic who wants nothing more than to have fun, and Milagro, a 4-year-old boy who wants nothing more but for his hopes and dreams to come true.

Things go well until Fazbear Entertainment decides for Freddy and his band to have "Minis" like how Sundrop had a son (who was in fact Sunbeam) years prior. Sunbeam is offended because he feels that they're just cashing off of a trait of his that he believed was sentimental to him: Being the son of a well-known animatronic.

Unbeknownst to Sunbeam, however, Sunlight falls for Mini-Freddy and also looks deeper beyond her father's childhood when it comes to her family history.

In light of the latest announcement about Sun and Moon, I think it's a good time to reveal this...

And I've been questioning doing this for a while now, so here we go...

MINI-SUN/SUNBEAM HAS ASPERGER'S SYNDROME!

If you don't know what that is, Asperger's Syndrome (otherwise known as Highly-Functioning Autism) is a condition forming part of the autistic spectrum, characterized chiefly by repetitive patterns of behavior, preoccupation with restricted interests, and difficulties with social interaction, without intellectual impairment or significant problems with verbal communication.

These traits are evident in Mini-Sun as we the readers see that in The Superstar Miracle, he is highly sensitive, doesn't like being around people sometimes, and on top of this can be very smart. And we continue to see it in Beyond a Miracle with him as a grown up (Sunbeam) and raising kids of his own, where he's wise and means well.

This also makes sense not just because his father and uncle are canonically autistic according to Kellen Goff (their voice actor), but also because I myself most likely have Asperger's, just like Mini-Sun/Sunbeam.

Fun fact about Mini-Sun: He has two special chips in his motherboard that allow the sounds he hears to sound super detailed, so he hears every little thing unless it's super quiet that nobody else can hear it, but he gets confused when he hears voices that sound like the voices of those he knows, and if that someone he knows isn't around, then he'll follow the confusing voice! The two chips in his motherboard simulate what would be his left ear and his right ear respectively, and sometimes one of them records sounds more than the other, kinda like how headphones pick up on left and right sounds and create a really cool effect!

Mini-Sun and Elise - an original composition for Daycare Attendant Generations

This piece was originally written and posted to Online Sequencer back in November of 2023, under the name "Sequence Practice 2", as a sort of love theme for the titular characters. It's meant to sound like it was played on a real harp, despite it being a MIDI-based tune.

It was loosely based off of the Korean folk tune "Arirang", as well as "Intermezzo" from George Bizet's "Carmen Suite". But aside from its Korean folk tune/Bizet influence, it has a mostly original sound that could be described as "relaxing" or "heavenly" among other things.

It really means a lot to me!

And just as I promised, I bring to you a drawing in honor of The Superstar Miracle reaching 1K reads on Wattpad! I call it: "Mini-Sun, the Daycare Phoenix".

For context in case you don't get the symbolism: in The Superstar Miracle, Mini-Sun rose from the ashes of his father (Sundrop) without him even knowing until Mini-Moon came to be... but then in the actual FNAF fandom, he rose from the ashes of what I like to think was the golden age of the DCA fandom, as a fankid of the pride and joy of modern FNAF... think about that for a second... in both his story and in the fandom he's for, he rose from the ashes of his predecessor, just like a phoenix rises from its ashes in a more powerful form!

This was also kind of me testing out different shading techniques ^^

A little thing I thought of about Mini-Sun/Sunbeam

Funny enough, he didn't just begin as his own animatronic! He began as a line of baby dolls in the image of Sun that were used at the Superstar Daycare by kids, but when Sun was upgraded into a more grown-up body, they discontinued the "Little Suns" baby dolls, and sometime after the events of Security Breach but before The Superstar Miracle (a little sneak peek for a story that'll come after Beyond a Miracle is done) the higher-ups at Fazbear Entertainment began working on a child animatronic for Sun by request of a former employee (Marie D'Amboise, who Sun had a great bond with), but based loosely off of the "Little Suns" baby dolls, almost like one of those baby dolls was aged up to be a tween!

And that "child animatronic"... was Mini-Sun!

A little fact that not a lot of people know about Mini-Moon/Moonbeam: His "sleeping mask" actually allows him to see in infrared vision or blacklight/ultraviolet vision, so when his mask is over his eyes he can actually see things that others can't! And yes, this means the eyes... or eye rather since one of them is an X... on Mini-Moon/Moonbeam's mask actually open(s) up when he has it on his eyes!
