IANTO·:

â â đđđđđ tensed up a bit. he wasnât a stranger to people knowing what torchwood was. hell, nearly everyone in cardiff once they had been there long enough knew what torchwood was. bloody torchwood was cardiffâs catchphrase.  but she was not from cardiff, even aside from her accent. because even if cardiff people knew what torchwood was, they certainly didnât know the teamâs name. they didnât know his name!
b u t
the supernatural creatures. the fact that he was alive. no sightings or newpaper articles on aliens despite the fact that this is wales.  đ·đźđ°đž. đżđŒđđČ đđđčđČđż. Â
bloody fucking hell. he was in a parallel earth wasnât he? fuck. F U C K. no wonder everything seemed off. no wonder things didnât seem to make sense and there were things that just seemed weird. it could even explain why, despite learning the basics of computers and coding from đđŒđđ”, he couldnât find his way into torchwoodâs system. he also needed to jump through parallel earthâs. and apparently either this one or whatever one she was from, people knew who he was. THERE WERE GIFS OF HIM. g i f s  which meant he was in some kind of tv show or movie. Â
oh god she knew who he was. that he was with đ·đźđ°đž. his life was put up on the screen for someone elseâs entertainment. torchwood. aliens. the pain heâd been through. did people know about the fall of one? about đčđ¶đđź?
but now was not the time for a break down. no. he had to keep his shit together, because maybe getting into torchwood could help him figure out how he had jumped parallel earths.
â if you can. đđŒđđ” showed me a few things sheâd done. i helped her with some basic read over and idea generating for some of our code, but iâm no where near her skill level and kept getting locked out. as well - well. i assume iâm not on my earth right now which may be causing issues. â
Charlie managed to put aside her excitement enough for Iantoâs words to make something click in her mind. Not on my Earth. Well, that much was obvious to her. Obviously he wasnât on his Earth, or she wouldnât be here. His Earth was entirely fictional on hers. But, if Ianto wasnât on his Earth, who was to say she wasnât in the same boat? Itâd explain helluva lot. Itâd open up a whole load more questions too, though.
âHuh,â she thought aloud, sounding much calmer than she felt because yeah, parallel universe? Not good. As if waking up with scrambled memories after dying - pretty sure - wasnât messed up enough. Now it might not just be that she was trapped in a random town in Wales, but also in a whole other Universe. âDonât like that.â
But she tried not to linger on it. Sheâd rather not have that crisis in front of a-- could she say stranger? Did that count in this scenario?Â
âYeah, that may complicate things a little. Hereâs the thing: in my universe, youâre on a tv show. Torchwood doesnât exist. Not really. So, I can try, but you might be having so much trouble because Torchwood just... isnât a thing here. Wherever here is.â She was damn good at her job, one of the best, but she wasnât good enough to break into something that didnât even exist. And she certainly wasnât good enough to cross whatever universe barriers there was. If that was even a thing?Â
Charlie was going to give it her all, anyway. Of course she was. Sheâd be kicking herself forever if she ever passed up on the opportunity to hack into freaking Torchwood. And hey, she wasnât one to pass up on a challenge.
