her father was an oncologist and her mother was a former miss new york
she’s the oldest of four, with two younger brothers -- daniel and elijah -- and a baby sister -- brielle
they all competed in the pageant circuit at some point, though the boys phased out earlier than the girls when they started getting interested in other things
brielle was the natural talent and their mom’s favorite, because she had all the charm and spunk to really wow the judges
delilah wasn’t as good but she was pretty and smart enough to know what to say to get the judges’ favor
brielle was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma when she was 14 and delilah was 17, and everything kinda fell apart from there
for the first time delilah didn’t have her mom watching her every move -- to worried about her youngest daughter -- so delilah got a lil reckless
between competitions she would go out and party like the teenager she was, and one night she and the guy she’d been sorta seeing decided to take things to the next level
unfortunately for delilah, the condom broke
she was disqualified from the miss teen usa pageant for being pregnant and the spotlight was back on her
delilah went into labor six weeks early and her son wasn’t supposed to live through the night because he was so premature
thankfully he lived on, and now he’s almost three years old :’)
his name is kobe, and he was named such because -- even tho delilah’s been a vegetarian for most of her life -- during her pregnancy she craved nothing but meat

after she managed to graduate high school, delilah went to culinary school -- which had been her dream and why she kept doing pageants
after she finished she moved to los angeles and opened her own bakery, and elijah moved down for college and helped her run the shop/take care of kobe
one day about six months ago a casting director came into the shop and liked delilah’s look so they asked her to audition for a new show they were casting
delilah actually laughed in their face bc she thought it was a joke
but she went to the audition anyway and now she’s on a tv show ???? which is ???????????? RIDICULOUS
she’s still baking in her free time but elijah does the running of the shop
kobe comes on set w delilah a lot of the time or she’ll leave him with a friend who’s not busy bc kobe is a curious lil bloke and will go off exploring if left to his own devices
but he’s v charming and everyone loves him

anyway delilah lives up to her spitfire label and talks back more than she should
her biggest wish when she was younger was freedom it’s all she ever wanted
when she first found out she was pregnant she saw it as a death sentence bc it was the end of her freedom for good
she feels terrible about it now bc kobe is the best thing to ever happen to her but it’s all she could think about when she first found out
she can’t imagine her life without her son and she doesn’t rly date bc nobody wants to date a single mom but like................does she really wanna let someone else into her life when they’re just gonna leave ???? nope
