I heard that Detective Conan is going to have a cross over with Star Detective Pretty Cure, on both series. One episode for pretty cure, which is episode 18 for the show, next week, and another one on detective Conan on June 6. Are you going to cover both episodes when they air?

hi I've been rewatching Conan as per you rewatch guide and I keep a spreedsheet of the ones I've watched up until now. Are the episode numbers in the rewatch guide were in reference to the japnese release episode numbers or the international one, as they differ slightly?

I use the Japanese episode number count!

Do u think we should watch the movies while watching the show or watch them all after finishing the show?

Since the show has so many episodes I wasn't really sure.

My recommendation is watch them where I have them listed in the watch order guide as it'll place the movies in between whatever episodes aired around the time of the movie's release and then you'll have the relevant characters that were present during that time be present in the movies. (Or in the case of characters like Shiratori, be introduced to the character prior to his anime episode debut.)

Okay, why on Earth are absolutely ALL of the police just gone now? Surely there would be more to clean up forensics wise or someone would be patrolling since a murder just occurred in the area?

Eh, this case just felt super mediocre. They didn't do much with the redirection regarding the other security guard and it just overall has a feeling of "meh".

What’s one thing you noticed/realized about this episode that you hadn’t before?

I don't know for sure, but the way the ball caps have wings on them could be a reference to Arale from Dr. Slump.

Definitely a reference to Uber Eats.

Something about the way CG people move in this series is just still too uncanny. I think we need to borrow some of the folks working on the Precure endings. ^^;

Oh hey, Haibara must be reading a book written in English. Neat! ...Why do none of the kids question how Haibara is reading a book that clearly has really long English sentences? ^^;

While this is nifty, surely Megure and Takagi would've known to do something like this so they wouldn't have to wait to rub it with a pencil, right?

It's a pretty average anime original, I'll give it a 5.

Hi, I was wondering about the episodes collections that are being added to Netflix. Are they missing any episodes and are they accurate?

Long story short, TMS is trying their hand at something different for promoting the series in English speaking countries, so they're focusing on batches of plot related/character focused episodes instead of bothering with anime original episodes.

So, yes to missing episodes, and as to their accuracy (I'm guessing you mean translation accuracy?) I can't speak to that as I haven't watched them thoroughly but from what I can tell from what I've seen they're accurate translations based on what we've seen before; I'm not fluent in Japanese. According to a very recent interview ANN did with the new dub staff, the ADR director is a super Conan fan, so I'm gonna roll with that they're doing the series justice.

A Magic Kaito 1412 English dub is available on Amasian TV. The studio and cast are currently unknown.

Has Gosho ever given a rough estimate as to how long Kaito had been active as Kaitou Kid prior to Shinichi becoming Conan?

I don't...think so? I'm honestly not sure though.

I think the answer is probably "not too long" though, since the entirety of Conan's story is supposedly set in the course of just one year. (I know, it makes no sense.)

My guess is probably at least a few months? Shin'ichi and Kaito are the same year in high school after all.

EDIT: Also we do have at least one Kid heist confirmed that occurred prior to Shin'ichi becoming Conan: the clocktower heist.

Which older cases come to mind when you think of cases which, if set in 2025, would have to be significantly rewritten to account for the technological or societal differences between 2025 and the time they were originally written?

At least one that came to mind is episode 10, "Pro Soccer Player Blackmail Case".

Not specifically because of the inclusion of the Bentou Box Fax Machine, but that is part of it. Apparently Japan still has a huge usage of fax machines so I can't really say that it'd need to be rewritten due to that, as the crime method in "The Memories of First Love Case" uses a fax machine's method of transferring data specifically in its crime.

No, the reason it'd be rewritten is because Ryoko would've been able to quickly snap a photo of the kidnapping letter to give to Shin'ichi using her cell phone (assuming she'd have one) and Conan would've gotten the information much quicker this way on his own phone.

It would've made a good chunk of the episode play out a bit differently what with Ran discovering Shin'ichi was in the house.
