|| i’m weak to firefly and imayoshi and i’m gonna ramble
imayoshi is very good at achieving goals, large and small -- but the bigger the goal, the better they work. they specialize in the long con, as it were, and put their whole heart and soul (would that they had em) into that end goal. creating the perfect team to make touou champions, running the family business efficiently, whether it’s a clear end point or just “doing things at their best,” imayoshi seems to run on goals.
so what happens when you give em total freedom? a ship, a sky, and no one to tell em what to do (not that anyone really could to begin with)? they flourish. they grow without a goal to contain them. a good crew is still essential, but once they gather that up, eking out a bare-bones living, traveling, never knowing what’s coming next, it’s all an absolute delight. they don’t need anything to be happy except a good time, and good people certainly help that along.
imayoshi’s got all the skills and mentality needed to keep a crew alive and fed, they’re perfectly-suited to be an outlaw, but every situation brings new challenges and they’ll be constantly growing to meet those challenges. and hell, a crew to protect is a fun lil twist to their lifestyle, people that aren’t necessarily aiming to kill them at all times, people that trust em when the going gets tough, people they don’t particularly feel like losing, it all sounds like fun.
space outlaw ima would come from a fairly well-off family, heads of a company that went under some way or another, and when they saw their obligations fallin down around em they had no issue in finding a new life on the equally-unsavory side. their little sister probably causes trouble now and then since the little mantis is worse than shouchi by far.
and nothin’s sweeter than some asshole tryin to use one of their crew as a bargaining chip, only for the rest of the crew to make jokes about how that guy’s about to get literally eviscerated (susa: “i’m not cleaning this guy’s guts off the floor, i did it last time”). they can all take care of themselves, which is why when imayoshi does decide to step in, it’s either a dire situation or the culprit has really pissed em off, either way it won’t end pretty
on that note guns are great but ima still favors knives all too heavily, nothing fancy like throwing too often, but very good at the stabby bit
mmmmmm imayoshi in this setting is my aesthetic
