yet they aren’t the ones that have been barricaded in this ghoulish writer’s block

where the ghost of you continues to haunt me

no matter how hard i beat on those walls or how deep

i stick that golden key into my veins

your presence will not leave me.

i’ve burnt my poems about you

and shoved them into digital trash-cans

i’ve kissed the tainted embers of my journal entries goodbye

yet you continue to consume these blank pages-

w/ hungry eyes

you’ve turned my body into a cemetery-

leaving my body for the mediums to dissect

yet, i still want to come back to you

i am desperate to go back to the hollow shell of a boy that never loved

me back because that is what i feel like i deserve 

i know that one day i’ll be able to stop writing about you,

when my body heals and i understand that i deserve more 

without other telling me that

but until that day of freedom comes,

i will continue to write about you.
