The deep intake of breath Leo took was testament to how much he was getting into the kiss, a dopey grin on his face as she spoke. “Adorable and smoking hot are two words I’d describe you with. As well attractive, amazing and really-good-at-kissing. I know that last one is a few words but that’s how good you are.” He said, still grinning as they started kissing again, his hands on her hips. 

Despite enjoying herself, she pulls away. She wants far too much, a shadow of a smirk is playing on her lips. “Do you want to know if I’m good at other things too?” She cocks her head pointedly at the bed before slowly pulling him towards it.

a brilliant smile spreads over her lips and the room seems to brighten with her smile. “mela..” the name lilts on her tongue as she says it sweetly. “it’s a beautiful name. please, call me jules, that’s what my friends call me- or rather they used too.” her expression falls and her eyes turn to the ground in a play of sadness. “my father.. he decided that i wasn’t the perfect daughter he wanted. so he sent me here so that i couldn’t be an embarrassment to our family..” she was hardly an embarrassment. she’d modelled herself after the greek goddesses- powerful, strong, independent, intelligent, beautiful- anything and everything a girl should aspire to be. but her father just wanted her to sit quiet and look pretty.

Even in the little play of sadness, Mela could not find it in her heart to have compassion. Instead, it was intrigue that rose up and emanated in her voice. “Really? That must have been terrible for you.” She smiles with the tenderness of a bramble rose--pretty on the surface only until you reach the thorns. “It’s unthinkable that you would be sent here because you’re an embarrassment. You’re absolutely beautiful and intelligent.That’s the farthest thing from an embarrassment.”

he tries not to flinch at the touch but it’s hard. he knows she wont hurt him (and he can defend himself if she tries) but so many years of pain cannot be undone so easily. the blonde shrugs it (and her off) with a playful groan. “yeah yeah, tell me something i don’t know.” he raises an incredulous eyebrow at her insistence and shakes his head. “sure- we could start right now ,but i need a shirt.” he pulls his blanket up higher as if to emphasise the fact that he’s still shirtless -when in reality its to hide the ink tattooed over his left arm and the scars on his torso- “promise me that you’re using this stuff for self defense rather than to kill someone?”

“Oooh I’ll get you one.” She jumps off his bed and proceeds to dig through his closet for a shirt. Handing it to him, she smiles and cocks her head to the side. She has not bothered to ask about his little pecularities anymore, about why he is so evasive and protective of himself. If it were anyone else, she would dig until she could hurt. But she looks at Tony with respect, finds that they are both kindred souls with their own secrets to keep. “I could assure you that I won’t use it to kill,” she begins cheekily, “but really, where does the line between self defense end and murder begin? It’s all pretty blurred to me.”

     “ unfortunately not. ” HA! what a boldfaced lie she tells ; perhaps her own HEART will believe it with the conviction she says it with. lyra knew. vaguely, but she knew. the sinking feeling she would get ; how it was never enough to just talk to those who claimed she loved her. her ex boyfriend. everything. “ why do you CARE so much anyways? “ oops, there’s the LYRA we all know and LOVE. “ she’s dead. she’s not going to come back to life just because you can’t KEEP your nose out of our freaking business, ” lyra snaps. she doesn’t even take back her words this time. she’s irritated. tired. everything.

She snapped. For Carmela, seeing someone tick and snap only produced two emotions--sometimes shock, but always a terrible sense of satisfaction. She kept her face in a state of shock with her wide eyes and half-opened mouth. There was something terribly wrong with the whole dialogue, though and she couldn’t shake that feeling off. It was so unlikely for Luna to snap, even under that sort of emotional pressure. Maybe the tragedy was too terrible to bear? But the words sounded so reminiscent of the girl they claimed dead. “Luna, are you alright? I didn’t mean to pry too much, I apologize.” A clipped laugh escapes her. “For a second there, you almost sound like Lyra.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you too Mela.” He said genuinely, laughing with her at the fact that they didn’t know each other’s names before this. “Adorable? Just what every guy wants to hear.” Leo joked, not taking it too seriously. He leaned against the kiss, walking backwards towards his bed as he embraced her, pulling her body close to his.

Suddenly, they were wrapped in each other’s arms again. Skin. Heat. Lips. A burning want heated in her stomach as she kissed him. Her fingers ran through his hair and her body close to him felt like desire personified. She pulls away from the kiss for a moment to reply to his quip. “Adorable and smoking hot,” she corrects her original statement with a smirk on her lips before meeting his lips again.

“Ah, it’s fine. Guys stumble by here all the time,” he smiled, “But aren’t the girl’s dorms on the other wing?” Lester asked.

“Oh you must be new!” Her eyes widen in pleasant surprise and her conniving mind is running wild with plans and schemes. “Plath has co-ed dorms, dear. Quite odd, but you’ll get used  to it. I’m Mela, by the way.” She flashes him a sweet smile, “Mind if I come in?”

antonio sighs- what she’s saying makes sense and even though it doesn’t stall his reluctance he does want her to have some form of protection in case the creeper corners her when he’s not around. “fine, but i’ll teach you how to use a knife; their easy to handle, come with limited mistakes and even though they’re used for close combat if you throw one well enough it can cover a considerable range.” it’d buy her time. “but you owe me mela.”

“Yayy! You’re the best, Tony.” Her giggles echo in the room and she reaches up to encase him in a hug. “This is why you’re my best friend.” She rarely uses the word, sometimes even uses it flippantly. But when she talks to Tony, she means it. He does matter to her, whether she acknowledges the fact or not. He is one of the few exceptions, saved from her manipulation and mind games. She flashes him an excited smile. “So when do we start? Let’s do it right now.”

juliet tilts her head to the side and her gaze turns curious. “you have me at  a disadvantage, you know my name ,but i don’t know yours.” she’s racking her brain as she flicks her hair over her shoulder, letting the dark locks fall in glossy tresses down her back, trying to put a face to the name. it’s obvious that she isn’t from a family of one of her victims- there was no way the other girl would be acting so pleasant if she was.

She smiles, gracious and sweet. “Carmela Espinosa. I usually go by Mela, though. Fellow Classics enthusiast. Now, we’re even.” It’s funny how she used to only admire Juliet from afar, idolizing her beauty and intelligence. Funnier even that it took a school change to actually give her the guts to come up and talk to the other girl. “What brings you to Plath?”

antonio’s knuckles ache slightly- they’re still sore from the wall he punched and leo’s jaw did little to soothe the ache. “you’re a stronzo!”  he yells walking towards him. “don’t fucking play dumb with me. are you really going to deny bringing my best friend in here? the gorgeous brunette you couldnt keep  your hands off of?” a description that applies to juliet too. “i’m not stupid! i saw you with my own eyes you bastardo. you don’t get to fuck with her! shes worth so much more than that!”

Still holding his jaw, Leo got to his feet, his dorm slowly began to spin although he suspected this was Tony’s fault. “I don’t even know what that means!” He yelled back, his fists clenching and unclenching rapidly. “I’m not playing dumb, I honestly haven’t go a fucking clue what you’re talking about! Yes I’ve brought girls back in here, but not for a cheap fuck.” He told him, although in truth he had no actual feelings for either girls that had been in his room since he arrived at Plath. “You saw what? Unless you saw me with your own two eyes fucking her, then leave me alone, you absolute PSYCHO.”

Was it the Fates that led her down this very corridor? Possibly. Whatever it was, it allowed her to hear a commotion happening inside a dorm she has frequented with great pleasure. She immediately recognized the two voices involved.She did not enter the room, not yet. She could not deny that she felt a sort of satisfaction as the drama that is her life begins to unfold. Finally she decides to barge in, face all practiced shocked and horror. “What is going on in here? Why are you both--oh my god.”

Seeing the girl’s gesture, Leo briskly paced (practically speed walked) to his dorm, fumbling with the handle before walking through the door. He turned to face the girl as they entered his room, his face flushing slightly as he grinned. “I’m Leo by the way.” 

She followed him and excitement was building up in her as she followed his pace to his room. An honest and tinkling laughter escaped her lips, “Oh god. Here we are about to--and you don’t even know my name. It’s Mela, an absolute pleasure to meet you.” Another giggle and a smile crosses her lips as she observes a red flush rise up to the boy’s cheeks, “You’re so adorable.” Closing the door behind her, she leans in for another kiss.

it wasn’t hard to gain attention- everything about her garnered attention, and even if she wasn’t the new girl surely eyes would still be on her. they always had been. a demure smile spread across her lips as juliet approached the other and looked at them through her dark lashes. “i’m sorry to bother you,” her voice chimes sweetly. “could you maybe give me a tour? i.. well i’m new and i got a bit lost..”

She recognizes her, and her eyes widen in disbelief. Impossible. Carmela has heard about her and has in her heart, aspired to be her. She walks towards the other girl, face engulfed in shock and pleasant surprise. Painting her face with her sweetest smile and coating her voice with her best courtesy, she addressed the other, “You’re Juliet Bellerose and I would be happy to give you a tour.”

Lester was buckling his belt when someone just barged in his room. “I could’ve been naked, you know,” he chuckled, “Might I suggest knocking first?”

“Ahh, I’m sorry,” Not really. Mela is always hardly sorry, but she offers the other a sweet smile. “I thought this was my dorm.” Despite admitting her mistake, she makes no effort to turn around.

antonio can’t help his laughter but it fades as he realises that she’s serious. antonio sits up and eyes her curiously. “you’re actually serious?” he questions, tone disbelieving. “you could get into trouble if we’re caught.” he doesn’t exactly care that he could be punished, but she’s his friend. loyalty is his fatal flaw “why do you even want to know how to fire a gun? please tell me you arent planning a murder.”

She rests her hand on her chin and smiles. Without context, the smile is sweet and seemingly harmless, even. “Come on, Tony,” She gestures with her hand to show her exasperation. “Like I said, I’m bored and shooting seems like sooo much fun. Or, we could do knives?” Getting caught has occurred to her. To be honest, she’s more concerned about Tony getting caught (As far as her parents concerned, what she’s done to get her landed in Plath is as worse as it gets).  Although knowing the boy, he probably doesn’t mind himself. “Besides,” she chimed, “I need to know self-defense if there’s some psycho murderer running around.”

Leo moaned into the kiss loudly, pulling her by her hips closer and closer towards him until they were pressed against each other entirely. His hands worked their way up her body until they were on her shoulders. He could tell that she had some experience in kissing people, with her taking the lead with her tongue and him following her lead, his tongue fighting against hers. Going against everything his body was telling him to do, Leo slowly, achingly pulled away from the kiss. “We should go to my room. Before we get caught.” He said breathlessly, his eyes darting from left to right in the hallway.

She was enjoying herself--his hands on her body and hers on his, lips against each other. It had been quite some time before she had this much fun. The last of which ended in the event that landed her in Plath. So imagine her disappointment when he pulled away. Her confusion was quelled by his statement but it was only replaced by impatience. In all honesty, getting caught was the least of her concerns. She has been caught doing worse things. “Well, lead the way,” she replied and gestured forward with her hand.

     she almost shies away from her touch. gross. she gives a small smile to her, if it’s just a sad one. “ sorry, mela. really, i’m SORRY. ” a pause. did she leave a note? luna did, yes. she remembered reading it. what it felt like. “ no, lyr… she didn’t leave a note. or anything. it was just… her. hanging there. ” her eyes become a little more distant, and she isn’t quite looking at her cousin, but past her. “ a-and she… wasn’t breathing. that’s all. ”

“Aww, really?” More compassion, more pity. Her eyebrows knit together and she pouts--an expression Mela supposes signals sympathy. “Wow, that’s so sad. Was she experiencing any problems, then? Anything that could have signaled her suicide?” Even in trying to faux grieve, the girl is still nosy. My god. “It must have been difficult because your sister was always so hard to read. Although, you guys as twins must have some sort of special connection, right?”

Not really expecting any actual reciprocation to his flirting, Leo’s mouth hung open slightly before he shrugged slowly, trying to act nonchalant. “Whenever is convenient I guess,” Leo paused slightly before caving. “I’m not doing anything now if you wanna come back to my dorm. We can skip the Netflix.” He glanced towards her hand on his shoulder and grinned, cocking his head the opposite direction of the girl. Deciding to finish what Carmela had started, he moved towards her, his grin against her smirk as he kissed her, his hands moving to her waist as he leaned into her. 

“Mmm-hmmm,” A slight hum escapes her lips as she feels the gap closing between them. Her heart pounding in her chest, she has done this so many times but the anticipation and the rush is still there. She settles a hand on his chest and while the other moves to through head, running her hands through his hair. The kiss was soft and sweet, tasting him felt like getting a touch of summer on her lips. But she only knows loving like devouring. Soon, she starts crashing into him, tongue and passion blending into the kiss.

antonio laughed dryly, lifting his head to send her a half hearted glare that was betrayed by the amused twitch of his lips. “i said fuck off.” he clarifies. “but either option is viable.” he jests of course. even if he didn’t have his whatever it was with emmie lou, mela means to much to antonio for him to soil their relationship. “i’m not grumpy mela. i’m never grumpy.” the blonde pulled his blanket over his head with a small groan. “i’m sleeping.”

He was not a prospect, not someone to toy with. He was her friend, whatever that word meant to someone like Mela. Why was he the subject of her uncharacteristic mercy? Simple. Toying with him gave her nothing. Besides, some part of her has learned to lean on him. “Aww come on, Tony,” she pouts as she pulls his blanket away from him. “I just read the Aeneid for the gazillionth time and I have nothing to do.” Her face lights up as another one of her strange ideas come to mind. “I know,” She inches closer to him, “You teach me how to fire a gun. That’s what you do in the mafia right? Come on, it’s going to be fun.”
