"Hey Soup Whiz, come ‘ere. Gimme a big hug!" The Explorer ran over to Carter, engulfing him in a hug with no explanation other than the giant smirk on his face.
"Oh hello Kas- OH. Hello Kas. Ah- why are you naked?" Carter stared at him, wide eyed, trying to keep his gaze from wandering south.

Carter stopped running, now taking a step back. It could talk? “I would think that’s obvious.” He said. “I’m trying to escape, like any sane person would. Unless maybe you’re being sarcastic… I wouldn’t know, I’ve never met a dragon before.” He glanced over his shoulder. The edge of the roof was looking awful friendly.
The creature’s eyes narrowed, its head inching closer until he could make out the Midgardian’s features. Loki recognized him. He laughed, smoke curling up from the corners of his mouth.
« You’ve met this one, Midgardian. Before, though with a different face. »
"Yeah- could you please keep the face a bit further away?" Carter stammered, drawing away as it came closer.
"I can't say you remind me of anybody I know..." He narrowed his eyes, as if this would help.

One Crazy Day

Carter glanced at everyone in the car in turn once more. He was feeling sicker by the moment. “Unified Intelli- holy shit…” Whatever that was, it sounded important. Important and dangerous.
He turned to the window, slamming his hand down on the button to lower it, then hung his head out, ready to throw up if his body so demanded it. After a moment, the queasiness passed.
"So, what happens now?" He asked, drawing his head back in and rubbing his forehead slowly. "I would appreciate it if you didn’t kill him. I don’t like his next form so much. More importantly- just what the hell do you people have him wrapped up in!?”
"In case you hadn’t noticed, I do not particularly care what you think of the arrangement,” said the man, simply rolling his eyes at Carter. “But I won’t have to do very much more explaining to you, as we have arrived at our destination.”
Before the Explorer had a chance to protest, he saw that they had arrived at a large grey building. It had an ornate entrance, but for some reason the people walking by on the pavement seemed to completely disregard its existence. The Explorer immediately recognized the mild perception filter, the same technology he used to keep his own dwelling hidden. He couldn’t help but be a little bit impressed by this, since this kind of technology wouldn’t be common for another millennium. At least, not on this planet.
As they stepped out of the car, the Explorer noticed Carter’s nausea. Helping him out, he leaned down, slightly embarrassed. “Sorry about.. all of this. You alright? Or at least… mostly alright?”
Carter was still rubbing his forehead. He accepted his help in climbing out of the car, and sighed. "I think so. Just a little freaked out. I wanted to run away or- or attack those guys- but I knew that wouldn't do any good, so I just started panicking and... and..." He frowned, suddenly looking taken aback, then reached into his pocket.
"And what the hell is this thing?" He asked, holding the furry creature the Explorer had given him at arms' length. He was surprised it was still alive, after being crushed in his jacket pocket while he had been running. Poor thing might have gotten a concussion. Luckily it had been entrusted to him, instead of staying with the Explorer during the whole "car chase" ordeal.
Then again, if memory served- which it hardly ever did- he wasn't exactly the best with small, furry animals.
The cat.
He shuddered at the thought.

Carter stared sideways at the Explorer, mouth slightly agape. “You’re working for… the government?” He glanced over at the man in the suit. “You actually… hired him?” Slowly, he looked back to the Explorer. “If somebody doesn’t give me an explanation pretty soon, I think I’m going to be sick.”
"Well, not exactly working for, I just sort of, er, joined in on what they were already investigating,” stumbled the Explorer, gesticulating as he scrambled to try to explain himself, even though he knew that it was unlikely that what he said would actually make much difference to Carter at this point. But before he could continue, he was cut off by the other man.
"We found the Explorer ‘investigating’ an old office of ours and detained him. We being the Unified Intelligence Task Force. I am only telling this because we are already going to be wiping your memory of the encounter. My name is Mycroft Holmes, and this man does not officially work for me. He is purely… assisting us in this matter. Except that a large portion of this arrangement was that he would not attract more attention than needed." Each word he said was like a dagger, and throwing around daggers in such a currently cramped car really was not enjoyable for anyone.
"DETAINED me?! YOU BLOODY KIDNAPPED YOU, YOU ARSE!!" yelled the Explorer, not pleased in the least with Mycroft’s so-called explanation. "I was doing perfectly fine until you came along and complicated everything! And, really, ARRANGEMENT?! YOU SAID YOU WOULD FORCE MY FLAT TO BE DEMOLISHED IF I DIDN’T COOPERATE!! THAT IS NOT WHAT I WOULD CALL AN ‘ARRANGEMENT’!!”

"If you put something radioactive in my skull, I will have to kill you, and you know how much I dislike your next regeneration."
"Radioactive? No. Also, not in your skull. Sort of… by it,” he said, shaking his fingers by his ear to demonstrate. “You really don’t clean well behind your ears, do you? Should definitely work on that.”
"..."
