【 Okay, I officially can't do it. I've sat down so many times in the past like week or so, tried to write back to the things I need to reply to and my muse is just rocky as fuck. So, I'm really regretfully dropping all my threads on this account.
Except the threads with eldersonofdis, troubledrogue and temporalchaos if they are still wanting those to continue on?? Let me know.
I'll probably try to do some minis later, though. Perhaps if I just keep it simple I can pump life back into Mystique?? Otherwise, I've put her officially on semi-hiatus and I will most likely be quite slow as I try to find my footing here.
For the people who I've dropped, please let me know if you'd like to continue relationships with this blue lady, or if you'd like me to throw a mini your way when I can to make up for me being just absolutely awful. 】
【So, I'm fairly certain I owe replies here, but gosh am I incredibly confused in my activity feed. So, please let me know if I owe you something or if you would like to drop what we had going??
And I'm sorry for being so slow here, my muse here is weak but I'm trying to gain it back.
If you'd want a mini from her to try to help me out, let me know.】
Mother Dearest [Closed|Mystique]
There was an intense satisfaction in the meeting of their bodies, and it only doubled as they landed against the ground. However, the cold touch of the woman’s ever present gun did freeze Rogue where she sat, straddling the other’s flat stomach, but her anger burned within her and threatened to consume her unless she lashed out.
Rogue clenched her fists. “You don’t get to call me by that name!" She could punch her, oh how she wanted to. There was no Kurt here to hold her up to certain standards. No professor to reprimand her for her less than stellar behavior. Hell, if Logan were here, he’d probably encourage her…Or tell her she was an idiot…
“It’s Rogue," She glared at the woman below her. "Mystique.”
As she debated whether to punch her or not, the gun was removed, making the decision easier for her.
Rogue’s fist connected in an instant and with it went all her pent up rage. Well, most of it. “Yeah, they took me too." She stood up off of her and stepped back, already working her gloves off in case Mystique charged her. "What no good things are you up to now, why the gun?”
When fist connected to blue flesh, Mystique did not flinch. Skull impacted with concrete as her head fell back with the hit. It was odd, she was used to a stronger punch. Was it because she was younger? No, the connection was made, her eyes widening just slightly. The expression would probably have been mistaken for shock at being hit, if anyone was looking at her, but it wasn't at all. To be honest, she was very much used to being punched by her children. This was so tame.
Rogue's powers were taken, or at least simplified, weren't they? That was the conclusion she came to. If they had taken her shapeshiftng, there was no plausible reason why they wouldn't take her incredibly powerful mutation too. The woman rubbed the site of impact as she sat herself up, then lifted herself off the ground. The gun was tucked securely into the hem of her pants as she dusted herself off. Healing was slower here, lip was busted and oozing out a small amount of her blood.
“Rogue, then.” She spat coldly. “I am not up to no good, as you say, my darling. I have simply been attempting to find a way out of here. For myself, as well as the others who have been so cruelly trapped.” A lie, but she used a tone to convey her sincerity and concern for the other peoples' well beings. She, of course, could really not give a damn.
“The gun, my dear, is for my protection. My powers have been stolen from me. And why the tackling, Rogue?” She said the name in a harsh tone, still bitter about being told what to call her own daughter. “I'm fairly certain that isn't what the X-Men have taught you, have they? To simply attack unceremoniously.”

◊ : What's your favourite thing about your muse?
Hah, she's awful, tbh. But I really like playing villains for some reason. I guess I really enjoy that, even though being a terrorist and massive villain with little care as to who she kills, she still has a heart in there and her anger stems from a very good point. Prejudice and torture are something when pushed to the extremes I think anyone would snap eventually, she has the same stance as any mutant but she just takes it across the line and to extreme measures to see her goal through.
While she is usually cold hearted, and seen as such, she's attempted in the past to make ammends which didn't usually end well. She has an intense love for those she actually lets in, but she's scared of herself being betrayed since it happens often and well, she does it just as often.
It'd be kind of fun to explore those sides of her here and in rp in general. So many people just focus on her villainy and extreme terrorism side of her, but I'd love to torment her in more ways. Like, getting her to know people and just you know eventually she'll need to betray them some way or another, and she will always do that if it's something she believes needs to be done.
Also, I love how determined and sassy/sarcastic she is, though, but at the same time being classy as fuck. I love love love playing the sarcastic types, tbh.
Ψ : Canon scenes/chapters you can't stand to watch/read (because it's sad)?
Huh. Probably around the time she tried to save Rogue with the baby Hope. She actually ended up thinking she killed her, instead of saving her. Even Gambit was angry at her, and she hurt so many people to try to get Rogue to safety. It's one of the times she actually cried, and she was so heart broken even though no one else believed her.
She did end up saving her, but Rogue just tried to kill her anyway, even through all she did. She had awful means, but she had a good intention however selfish it was and even if she didn't know whether it would kill the baby or not.
Just generally, probably any scenes she actually cries. Like, I can't stand strong people crying for some reason it just gets me right in the heart.
Also, though, when Nightcrawler came back to life and she just was honestly happy to see him and he just wanted her dead. Her and her children, man. It hurts.
I'm sorry if I screwed any of this up, it's been a while since I've read the sort of older stuff.
Ж : What do you like best about RPing, in general?
Hmmm, well I like to make friends, tbh. And interacting with a lot of people makes me really happy, though it doesn't really happen a lot and I'm waaayyy too shy to actually go out and approach people. I honestly love multi-fandom rps, since it lets the characters explore all these different worlds and situations they wouldn't normally be in?? And it also shows me the different fandoms out there, like I love learning about different fandoms and seeing other people so in love with their fandoms. More often than not, it gets me to watch/read/etc. those other fandoms when I don't know them.
I hope it does the same for others too, but I mean comics are hard to get into since there are so damn many. And it's not like I've read every comic ever either. So, for anyone who wants to get into 616 or anything else, just take it one step at a time. Maybe follow a character you really enjoy or a certain series. It'll branch out from there like a virus, I promise.

Character solidifying!
19. What were your character’s deepest disillusions? In life? What are they now?
I don't....know why this one is causing me so much trouble???? I guess, times where she put her trust in the wrong person and in their ideals only to find out they were very wrong. She's had her moments of changing sides because of the clashing of ideals. She doesn't enjoy being betrayed even though she does it almost constantly, to the point no one ever believes her about anything.
I know I keep bringing them in, but they're such a big part of her other sides, but her children, probably. She gave up one of her current children because he and herself were going to be murdered, but she does love him so much. Meeting them again she probably felt like she could be their mother again, even though the one she did raise, well, she was not a very good mother in the past. I think having her children, and even past lovers, try to kill her made her realise that she could no longer be their mother, though she still loves them and protects them when it's of use to her.
She knows there are consequences to betraying people, but she still has a little hope going back in that she can resume a relationship with people, like recently with Kurt when he was brought back to life, but it is always thrown back in her face and more often than not punched into her.
29. What is your character’s weaknesses? Hubris? Pride? Controlling?
She's very stubborn and very prideful, especially of the Mutant Kind. She doesn't see why others won't fight as hard as she does, and this gets her into a lot of trouble, especially with the X-Men. She tends to hold grudges and when angered it takes great strength to hold herself back, which often times gets her caught when she's trying to maintain a cover or a scheme.
She does tend to try to control everything around her; a very manipulative woman. When she plots things, she'll use anyone she can get her hands on or can get to trust her, even if they're someone close to her. If their death, pain or discomfort will help her achieve her goal, she will use them though some times it hurts her. Her need to control and manipulate events and outcomes often times gets her in trouble in the chance that everything falls completely through.
She sometimes gets excited and misreads a situation also, thinking someone would think a certain way but it turns out to not be right and she gets herself killed again. She also ends up putting trust in the wrong people, though trust is very hard to come by for her.
45. Is your character pragmatic? Think first? Responsible? All action? A visionary? Passionate? Quixotic?
This one very much depends. She's had her moments of insanity, and has jumped before looking before and let her own insecurities and emotions cloud judgement. Generally, though, she doesn't let her emotions get in the way of a call when it comes down to it. She's insanely passionate about her goals and will stop at nothing to reach them, often times taking drastic measures and dealing with the consequences later.
She's an expert tactician, though, so most of her plans involve intricate thought and most times she will keep it to her self, even if she is working with others; especially if she knows they won't agree. Even working with people is planned out with her, she'll lead people on to think her plans are one way, to make them more comfortable but in the end she'll turn it around on them. In the end, it's always her plan and not someone else's, even if she "follows" their plans.
"Are you dead?"
"No, not yet. Sorry, my daughter, you will be awaiting my demise for some time now."
"I wouldn't count on me staying down, either."

4. What type of discipline was your character subjected to at home? Strict? Lenient?
Hahaaa...oh god, so, her exact childhood was never really explained in depth, as far as my knowledge of 616 goes?? I maaaay be wrong, because I am a silly human.
But it was implied heavily, having her mutation activated at a very young age, that her parents were quite cruel to her. They feared her, as did everyone else in the town she was living in. It kind of forced her to get control of her powers at a young age. They tormented her because they feared her and it really was the spark that ignited the fire of her hatred for humans.
That and, you know, getting chased out of a town by an angry mob after you and your child, being called demon, witch, set up for execution in the old west, you know...the normal every day things.
8. How does your character feel about religion?
I'm not particularly sure as far as canon goes. But my personal feelings are that, she prroooobably does not enjoy it so much. Many, many, many of the people who prosecuted her or tried to kill her for her appearance and gifts tended to be religious.
Also, one of the biggest cults against mutant kind currently is heavily religious.
25. What are their hobbies and interests?
She was actually an actress for a while! She's a very smart woman so she enjoys learning what she can especially when she has an objective. She also is a tactician so figuring out battle tactics and devising how things would play out would probably be among her top things to do.
She also enjoys flirting/teasing Logan, because she has a death wish, but he also has a death wish. Also generally flirting/teasing anyone she's interested in or not, maybe just to see a reaction.
I could see her curling up with some books and drinking some form of hot drink when no one's looking though.
36. Do they like to suffer? Like to see other people suffering?
Oh, well this one depends!! She relishes in revenge when it is particularly satisfying. There are some, though, that she genuinely cares for like her daughter and son. She doesn't like to see them suffer, especially at her own hands but if it's something that she believes must be done, she will cause their suffering but shed tears for them.
That just adds to people not believing when she's actually being genuine or actually caring about someone. She's done this with lovers as well. And she can't stand needless suffering of the one's she loves, or mutants at the hands of humans.
She does not enjoy the suffering herself, no. That is why she fights so hard for her and other mutants' rights.

Reblog With A Picture of Your Rp Character Being Cute
Mother Dearest [Closed|Mystique]
deadlymystique
It was nice to be able to walk around, relatively at ease. Here, no one knew what she was. Hell, even if they did, there wasn’t any that would confront her, everyone had their own thing going on. For the first time in a long time, Rogue felt a little lighter, a little less tense.
It was early morning still, but it was almost impossible to sleep in, and either way, she wasn’t done exploring what this city had to explore. As she turned a corner, she froze. Facing the other way, but not mistakable, stood mystique. The woman that hoped to raise Rogue as a villain.
An uncontrollable rage welled up within Rogue. A blinding, white-hot anger that no amount of time could quench. “Mystique!" Cody the quarterback’s skills had once been hers, and even if she didn’t have that anymore, she still had the memory of one perfect tackle, and with no other warning, Rogue charged.
A light yawn left the blue woman's mouth, holding a hand up to it as she did so. If she had been better prepared, or she had slept much since she arrived there, Mystique may have dodged the entire attack on her. However, she did not this time.
As she heard her name being yelled in a less than friendly voice, the woman began to turn. Had she seen who it was, her finger wouldn't have been on the trigger of her BB gun. And it certainly wouldn't have been pressed against the girl's head as Mystique landed. back first, into the hard cement.
The woman winced in pain, an angry expression gracing her face, but it softened after just a moment.
“Rogue? ...Anna?” Immense surprised to over her entirety. Not that it was Rogue. No, she'd been tackled by Rogue many a time and damn near killed. This was different. This Rogue was so...so young. With short hair, even. My, how she already hated her at such a young age. It pained her and hit her heart like a thousand bullets. The gun was lowered as she simply lay there on the ground. She didn't fight, she wouldn't fight. She knew it would just anger her more, and she didn't want to either; she loved her daughter whether everyone thought she didn't or not.
“They took you too?”
“One should never have faith in the entirety of humans,” he agreed, tone light but words serious. He still recalled the Lakemen’s behaviour, the way they were so willing to lock fourteen people away for nothing, until promised gold they had no claim over. It wasn’t the worst thing a human’s ever done, but it was a fresh wound, and Dwarven pride stings for ages after the slight.
They’re not a trustworthy people. In general.
“Glad I got my point across, then,” he said with a grin, then nodded. ”Ravens do hold the worst grudges. They’re important birds, to the Dwarven people. They carry our messages, we feed them and keep them comfortable. And when someone doesn’t treat a raven well, it remembers. Good eye for faces, they have.”
Fíli gave a nod then. ”Yes, Khuzdul is my mother language. And… my mother’s language, for that matter. It’s… harsher in sound than the pretty Elvish languages, or the flowy human ones. But it’s ours and we’re proud of it. We’ve simple phrases like gamut manun, meaning ‘good day’ but a polite goodbye would be tan gamut warg ai-menu, which is, ‘may a good death be upon you.’ Apologies are a very big deal to us, not used as lightly as other races might use them, so jemut men for, roughly, ‘excuse me’ is more common and less drastic. Were I to admire a pretty lady, I might tell her Men eleneku menu o bepap opetu ezirak meaning ‘I desire you more than an endless vein of mithril,’ with mithril being a metal we mine, precious beyond measure.”
He was very proud of his language, but he knew, too, that even when translated, it wasn’t always quite like common speech. With a grin, he added, “And my favourite, Ma ôhfûkizu kuthu khathuzh aslônî. Ni ma mahùlchùp agrîfumùn hi ya. ’Rejoice not when an Elf falls— but don’t feel like you must rush to pick him up either.’”
As she showed him the gun, he inspected it carefully. He’d never seen a weapon like it before. “I take it a real one is… effective, as a weapon? If you do find one, I hope you’ll show me how it works. I stick to swords and axes myself, but I’m always eager to learn.”
Her surprise at his princely status was expected, if he was honest. The Dwarf knew he didn’t look the part in his current attire. Still, he grinned. “Tha’s better. I’ll take handsome. It’s the beard, isn’t it?” he joked easily before listening to her words about this Thor fellow.
“A god? In a floating city? I’ve never heard of such a thing, that’s fascinating. But of course, if anyone’s forging godly weapons, it would have to be the Dwarves. We’re rather good at that kind of thing.”
“And my mother’s fine, hopefully. Unless something happened in the past year. I just haven’t seen her in a while— my little brother Kíli and I went with our uncle to see if we can’t slay a dragon and reclaim our homeland. She made me promise to watch my brother close— he’s reckless, see. Didn’t say a word about my own safety, even. But if our quest goes well, we’ll have Erebor back, and she can… she can go home.”
“One could say I have quite a lot in common with ravens, then.” Mystique grinned back at him. She was glad he was so knowledgeable, and much more glad that he seemed to understand her to some extent. It'd been far too long since she'd had someone on her level to speak with. Someone who wasn't either trying to kill her or accusing her of something constantly. Or wary of her, that was especially something people were when it came to her. Even when she tried to be good, it was always so unexpected. By the time anyone came to a decision about her she'd more than just given up on the entire 'being a good girl' bit.
As he spoke, the woman seemed to pay great attention. She knew many languages herself, but to hear one from another universe entirely was a grand opportunity, and always fun for her. Would it even come in handy if she'd learnt this one? Probably not, but she had little care. Then again, everything had its uses, didn't it? She smiled as he spoke his words of admiring a pretty lady.
“Well, I find it quite enthralling, and some say the same thing about my own native language. It sounds harsh, but that just makes us more dominating and to be taken seriously, doesn't it?” She laughed. “I find the translations beautiful, poetic even. I'm sure they are more so if I were to understand your words, hm? Specifically, if you were to say that to any woman, she would be insane to not find it endearing”
A pause at his next translation, then another laugh left her. “A strange saying, but amusing. I take it you don't like elves to some extent? And you will just have to teach me your language some time.”
“Oh, I certainly will show you. A real one can kill a man with one perfect hit. It really all depends on how accurate you are and where on the body you shoot. I, my dear, am very well versed in many weapons. Guns and explosives, however, are very useful in modern battle tactics.”
“Yes,” she mused, “it is the beard. You know, I love a man with a good beard.” She teased, reaching a hand out to gently touch his beard, but she wasn't exactly lying. She had her taste in men, and it more than once led to the gruff, rugged and hairy types. Now, her taste in women was an entirely different story.
“Yes, well, the God actually fights crime with some other super heroes. There's plenty unheard of when it comes to my time line, to be honest. And I've heard. Do the best weapons not always come from the Dwarves? At least in most legends. Does a prince forge as well?” She teased again.
“Oh, well, I do so hope your quest goes well. I'm sorry you had to be taken and stuck here.” She was actually sincerely sorry about it, which didn't happen most often than not. It helped that he wasn't human and he didn't approach her with venom about her appearance. Genuine flattery got everywhere with the woman.
“Dragons and quests. My, your life sounds like a fantastic book. And yes, siblings do need to take care of each other, don't they?” She had a thought of two of her children. The two whom at first didn't get along so well, but now... Well, now they fiercely protected each other and cared for each other more than their mother. It wasn't a far stretch to see why, though.
“Did you protect him, then? Were you taken here alone, or is he here as well?”
