Half-hiatus?

Soooo yeah as much as I’d love to keep being constantly active here I figured it’d be best if I took a break for a while. I’ve got someone very special visiting next week and I need to make sure everything is perfect when they show up. That combined with work doesn’t leave much time for much rping. I’m not fully gone; if we have a thread going at the moment i’ll make sure to keep the replies coming. That’s pretty much the only time i’ll come here, so don’t expect me to jump into inboxes or reply to posts. I’m only doing current threads.

“You wanna fucking go, punk!?” She's yelling at some random person that pissed her off.

This girl is so… audacious. Walking out at night, dressed as if she were a harlot from his age, and then cursing him when he so much as bumped into her. To an extent, she reminded him of himself. 

Perhaps if he was not as smart as he was, they’d be similar enough for him to care.

DIO lunged forward, hand outstretched. His palm hit the front of her throat, and his fingers curled along her throat, his fingernails stopping millimeters away from piercing her skin. He could kill her in a moment if he so chose, but he needed to save his strength.. and his appetite.

“Idiocy. That’s what everyone reeks of here, it’s worse than Egypt.”

Mai winced slightly, the pain still running through her body. What sick torture was this? Was her begging for death the reason he was taking so long? Was this man that sadistic? Though hearing his question briefly removed the questions from her mind.

".......What?" Mai rubbed her neck and stared up at the strange man. Did he really care or was he looking for a laugh? "Tch.....fine i'll tell you. What have I got to lose anyway...." She shifted her body and looked away as bitterness started to build up.

"......I'm an heiress......my parents are wealthy people and spend all their time working to earn more and more reputation and money. 'What kind of trouble would a rich girl have anyway?' Most people think that when they look at me but......imagine day in and day out from the moment you could speak of hellish rules and lessons." Mai cleared her throat to ease the mild soreness and continued.

"One mistake.....one slight error even if by accident and you're an embarrassment.....a failure......worthless........imagine hearing that for years. Imagine being put through all the abuse and stress with no one to help you only to find out that in the end it's all to just make you 'perfect' for an arranged marriage you knew nothing about! It wasn't some cruel way to make you a better person! It's just to be some prize trophy for someone you never met! So yes I want to die! I'd rather embrace the sweet release of death than go another day dealing with my shitty parents in my hell filled life!"

Liked for a starter

          “Mai,” the vampire started, looking out over the city of Cairo, the lights glittering off in the distance made it look like a sea of orange stars, reflecting the evening sky that dimmed in comparison. A shame given how bright the city was. “Have you ever considered becoming a vampire when you hit a reliable age?” He asked, never looking at her. A curious question indeed, he had that ability to turn mortals into vampires, if he didn’t drain them first. Those usually became zombies.

          Zombies posed a problem, but he found humans and more importantly, Stand Users to be respectful when it came down to his demands. A repeat of a century earlier would do at all.

          “Have you ever considered ascending your humanity?”

The question seemed to come of nowhere for her as Mai turned to face the older male. It had been a quiet night just watching the city lights, leaving Mai with nothing but her thoughts. “A......vampire?” Honestly the thought never crossed her mind. “I......don’t really know. Immortal life was never on my radar.....actually I didn’t even think I’d get this far in my life.”

She was stronger. Not anywhere close to where Mai wanted to bed but still leagues better than the weakling she used to be. “But........putting my human life behind me wouldn’t be awful. Though what would be considered a reliable age?”

Dio looked down, his victim now.. begging? For death? He’s seen this ruse before. They plead for death, hoping that he would spare them out of pity. Not so much. “Again, Idiocy.” He stepped forward, his blurred vision only slightly impeding him. Even if he couldn’t see her, He could smell her. Hear her..laughter.

“Idiocy, that’s what everyone here reeks of!” He stepped forward, and thrusted his foot forward, making it collide with the other’s stomach. “Do you even know who I am?” He reached down, wrapping his hand around her throat once more. “I am DIO! I am a god amongst mortals! That you don’t know my name is an insult.” He tucked a fingernail under the skin of her neck, letting a trail of blood leak out. “Are you sure you want to die? To die by my hands is not the death you truly seek, is it? You seek absolution. Darkness.” His grin returned.

“The death I bring is servitude. The sight of only your god driving you forth as a willing slave. You’d be nothing but a corpse among the living, bringing me food for as long as your body holds.”

A sharp cry of pain. Why did he insist on harming her body? She was nothing…..and yet he was spending his time brutally beating her. Though she did start this whole thing. “i’ve never......h-heard of you.........” She coughed more; slowly feeling the air returning to her lungs. Mai wanted this to end. Flashes of her past came all at once causing tears to flow out of her eyes.

She didn’t want to be spared. The thought repeated over and over as she continued to laugh. “This......this is much better than going back.......do it......I don’t care.........you aren’t going to let me go either way am I right?” Mai chuckled bitterly. “Even if you did.........I’d handle it myself..........I’ll give myself death........” Despite the laughter, her tear-stained eyes were blank, empty. Mai was a broken person who didn’t care anymore.

           The vampire laughed, low and quiet of course. Despite how weak the kid seemed, she sure did have the enthusiasm. Potential to become something great. Right now she was just a rubber band, pull it too hard, too fast and it would snap, but stretch it slowly and it get’s longer without the damage. He’ll make sure of that. Mortals had their limits where he did not, but even then his own Stand, The World could use improving. He acknowledged that. Nothing but gain from here on out.

          “You’re still a child, Mai. Take a break, push yourself too hard with the kind of power you Stand has, you’ll end up hurting yourself far worse than what I can fix.” He gestured towards one of the sofas. “I figure tomorrow you can continue. Perhaps I’ll even watch,” Dio turned a page. “We shall see.”

“A child........” She sighed softly. Mai hated how young she was. Why did she have to be a child? Why couldn’t she be an older woman. Hearing that chuckle had her pout despite the mild blush on her face. Honestly she was a bit tired and rest would do her already exhausted body some good.

“Y-You’ll watch?! O-Okay! I’ll rest up so I can show you how much I’ve learned!” The smile on her face was bright as she laid on the sofa. Immediately a yawn left her mouth. “I......I’m more tired than I thought.........”

Perhaps he found it odd the fact that he was minding his business and then hearing the fumbling and shaking. He takes a step back … listening. It’s silent, too quiet.( Couldn’t it be an animal looking through trash?) he thinks. No … he hears foot steps and a quick scream before it becomes silence.Now he’s certain that someone was up to no good. He gets up and dashes to the source of the sound. His breathe flaring through his nostrils. Hopefully it’s not to late to save them with his stand 「CRAZY DIAMOND」. He soon arrives as they are about to end their life.

“I just can’t seem to get rid of my old habits............” Mai chuckled lightly and dropped the now dead man on the ground. A dark alley....how cliche. Rolling her eyes, she pulled the knife out of his chest and quickly turned around from the sound of someone yelling.

Deadly Silence was immediately out and ready to fight when she took a better look at the one responsible for the outburst. “Oh.....it’s just a kid. You startled me for a second.”She shrugged her shoulders and didn’t think too much of it and casually moved past him.

DIO’s menacing smile was cut short as his vision became blurry. “T-Tch. I feel.. faint. I haven’t felt so powerless in centuries. Not since..” His mind flashed back to Johnathan, clutching his head into his chest. “I refuse to feel so powerless again!” 

He didn’t need to see. He had her right where he wanted her. “You think taking my sight with your ability will keep me from defeating you here? I expected you to be an easy catch, but it seems you’ll be a bit more interesting to toy with.” 

There was a pause. “Time shall now stop. The World!”

Time stopped dead in it’s tracks, and Dio loosened his grip, stepping around her. “One…” He was at her side, taking his time. “Two..” He was at her back. He threw a punch at the back of her neck, then another. “Three. Four. Five.” Finally, he pulled at her leg. She’d trip when time resumed. “Six. Time will now resume.” He laughed boisterously as time resumed.

She needed to run. This was way more dangerous than she originally thought it’d be. However before she could turn and run for her life, Mai saw an image appear next to the strange man. “Th-That’s-” In an instant her words were cut off leaving only a painful cough.

Her body fell forward,making her cry out in agony from the hard hit to the street. “Wh-What..........what happened.........” This man......what did he do to her? How could he move so fast? Either way it dawned on Mai that she wasn’t going to be able to escape. He was going to kill her.

......wait.........why am I trying so hard to fight back...............what am I running to?

The panic, the fear.....it all slowly vanished as Mai began to start laughing. “Y-You’re going to kill me right? Hurry.......hurry and do it! I can’t wait......I can’t wait to escape my hell! End it all!”

DIO stared down the other, a devious smile curling up on his lips. She wasn’t scared- No, she definitely was, she just needed some.. coercion to bring it to the surface. 

“You can do that as well, hm?” His devious closed smile spread out, exposing his fangs in a chauvinistic, downright sinister grin. “I don’t think you’re aware of the immense ways I could kill you in this very moment.”

His eyes also glow, an Eerie mix of purples and reds, before he glances his eyes just barely to the side, two lasers spiraling out from his eyes into the masoned street behind her. His glow faded, and he glanced back over to her. “I’m sure you can’t do that, though.”

Of fucking course.....

She flinched at the noise behind her, feeling a chill go down her spine. Was this it? Was this how she was going to die? By of course choosing to fight the one person who could do........that. In her brief moment of panic; Mai’s ally pulled her to the ground only leaving mild scratches on her neck.

“O-Ow......” Yeah she was terrified, but something inside of her held the fear from coming forward. He’s not getting it out of me......I won’t show my weakness! 

“You’re right.....I can’t but....I can do something!” Mai took a deep breath and focused. She knew what her hooded friend could do, but it only came out when she was emotionally frustrated. Blind him....take his sight! A sharp pain shot through her head once a bright red light came into view.

Tonight was not the night for this. Mai was in a shitty mood and had zero time for anybody at the moment. So of course when she bumped into someone (rather hard) and they had yet to apologize, in came the swears.

Now maybe picking a fight with some random stranger seemed like a very stupid idea but Mai wasn’t worried. She had a hidden ally, something close to her that no one else could see. At first she thought she was insane but after a while Mai realized that whatever this hooded figure was it was real. 

“Don’t put your hands on me!” It came out, red eyes glowing as if sending this strange man a warning. Even with his hands around her throat, Mai didn’t flinch or even back away.

A part of her wanted, dared to hope it was true. She still had a bit of her pride and looked away as she felt a tear fall down her face

“I’m sure you could build the same sort of path for yourself! Come to a point where food is offered and parties are held when your presence is seen on the horizon!”

“E-Eh? Er I-I suppose........though i’ve started a reputation where people run when they see me.......then again it’s only mild. Not really worldwide.” She was a killer, a massively sadistic one, but as time passed her old habits faded away. Of course that didn’t stop her from getting into fights every so often. “Traveling the world does sound like fun when you put it like that....eheh though it is my only option at this point.”

She looked over at Sinbad at let out a chuckle. “Who knows maybe i’ll end up working for another man that want to be God.” Mai was joking......slightly. Knowing herself it was maybe possible.

You’re a free lady now aren’t you?” Once he’d sipped his wine he would lean forward to place the cup down and sit back relaxed once more. “So what is it you’ve done with your freedom from that place? Found any…groups to join or a good cause to follow? A place to call home?” 

“A free lady........” Mai stared at her glass and sighed softly. She left the mansion. Not by force but by her own choosing but it still hurt. Mai had nowhere else to go. There was no chance in hell she was gonna head back to her old home. Like everything she would just brush it off with a light laugh. “Nope! I just roam the land and see the world! It’s like a vacation only with limited money.”
