It’s a little upsetting that the word “biblical” often means, “Pushing my stance-for-truth on you until you cave in to my view of Scripture.” It never means loving or passionate or sacrificial. When someone says, “That’s not biblical” – I want to know exactly which cherry-picked selection of the 31,102 verses of Scripture would lead a person’s three lb. brain to their biblical conclusion. Standing for truth is important, but not when others are shoved off the platform. Jesus didn’t put love and truth into battle – he called for repentance but he began in the dirt, on the open road, where there was room enough for everyone.
