âPick up the damn phone, already!â
Prompt: âPick up the damn phone, already!â
Warnings: Smut, Cursing  Â
Dean, Sam and you had been chasing down a nest of vampires for about two weeks. Theyâd almost slipped through your fingers, until a girl went missing and the three of you were able to track her trail. When it was all over you were more than happy, and practically begged Sam to join you and Dean at the bar for a celebration.
âSam, please!â You whined, grabbing his arm. Youâd only been working with the Winchesters for the past two months but already you were so close. Sam was like a big brother to you, and Dean⌠Well, he was different. Over a week ago you two had shared a few beers while sitting in the front of his Impala. The two of you talked about everything, and you were surprised he had so many insightful things to say for a guy who was usually either quiet or acting like a complete dork. You knew that he was charming. You watched him talk girls into his arms all the time, but what surprised you was when it happened to you. One minute you were staring into each otherâs eyes and the next you were lip locking. It didnât go passed that, and part of you was relieved it hadnât. You knew he didnât feel the same way about you; you had a major crush on the gorgeous man. Actually, you were head over heels for him. But you didnât see any way he would like you back. He never hit on you, besides for the occasional flirtatious gesture, which you assumed was in his nature. Plus, all the girls he got with were insanely beautiful, so why would he settle? You felt defeated, so you chose to lock up your feelings and drown them in alcohol. Nearly every night you werenât on a hunt you went out for a drink, and all those times youâd been accompanied by Sam. Tonight, it seemed like Sam wasnât in the mood. Dean, however, was.
âNo. Iâm way too tired from that nest. Iâm about to pass out,â he said, stretching his long arms above his head. You pout, crossing your arms. Dean was standing behind you, ready to leave. The two of you were walking to the bar because it was so close to the motel. That was the reason Dean had wanted to stay here.
âFine, I guess youâll be a loser all alone tonight,â you taunted, turning on your heels. Dean had the door held open, smiling at you on your way out. He closed the door, walking a few steps behind you down the road. Things hadnât been awkward since you kissed, but things werenât back to normal, either. It was like he morphed back to the person youâd first met: stone-faced and quiet.
The further you walked, the closer he got to your side, eventually catching up next to you. The two of you didnât speak until you were out of the motelâs parking lot. Â
âYou look pretty,â Dean said, and you snorted.
âThanks, but that canât be true,â you said. All you were wearing was a pair of jeans and a dark blue V-neck. It wasnât anything special.
âItâs true. Youâre going to knock them dead at this place,â he said, acting as if you were some sort of little sister. You sighed under your breath, your heart dropping.
âThanks,â you said, withdrawing your defenses and taking the complement. The two of you walked the rest of the way in silence, thankfully only taking two more minutes to arrive. There were only a few cars outside, and you were glad it wasnât so busy- that meant less girls for Dean to hit on in front of you.
When you walked in, your thought about there being less attractive girls was wrong, there were at least 10 scattered around, all turning in your direction to stare at Dean. He immediately perked up, almost puffing his chest and you wanted to sigh out of aggravation. As you walked over to the bar, you noticed a few guys looking your way, too. Dean took a seat next to you, looking over his shoulder. You quickly ordered a shot, and downed it in a second. You ordered three more, and started feeling the buzz of drunkenness.
âYou might want to slow down, tiger,â Dean said, putting a hand on your thigh. You looked down at his hand, then back up at his face. For a moment you thought the two of you were sharing a connection, but he quickly retracted his hand and turned back to the bar.
As you were ordering, a girl came up, sitting next to Dean and leaning over the counter. She was nearly in his lap, trying to get the bartenderâs attention. Dean moved back slightly, looking at the girl. She looked over at him, and then ordered her drink, then looked back to Dean.
âHey,â she said, and you could tell she was slightly drunk. Dean smiled at her, nodding his head.
âHowâre you doing?â He asked, and she smiled seductively. You nearly gagged watching them flirt, and your mood immediately turned sour.
âYouâre cute,â She said, blinking at him with wide-eyes. He looked over
to you for a second, then back to the girl.
âThanks,â he said, sounding as if he was blowing her off. You perked up slightly.
She left, and was almost immediately replaced by another one. This girl was nearly ten times more attractive than the last.
âHi. Do you want to dance with me?â She asked, and Dean paused. You had to admit, if she had asked you to dance you would have. Dean nodded slowly, then got out of his seat. Your stomach dropped, and you watched her drag him to the middle of the room. It felt like you were being stabbed as you watched them dance close, the girl getting more and more sexual as the song progressed. You ordered another shot, then another, hoping that if your vision blurred she would be less pretty.
âHey,â someone said next to you, and you turned, surprised it was an attractive male.
âHi,â you said, hoping you didnât sound trashed. You didnât really feel too drunk yet, but your head was buzzing. You were in a good place.
âMy nameâs Matt, whatâs yours?â He asked, offering his hand.
â(Y/N).â You said, smiling. From there, you two had light conversation. He would place a hand on your knee, saying something funny or smooth. Youâd giggle, grabbing his hand. Every once in a while youâd turn around, catching Deanâs gaze. This encouraged you more, seeing him dance with her was making you act crazy. You leaned over, whispering in Mattâs ear.
âWanna leave?â You asked, and he nodded, downing his drink and taking your hand. The two of you walked outside, ending up in the back of his car. You two drunkenly removed each otherâs clothes, kissing and twisting together. You were about to remove your pants and bra when Deanâs head popped into your mind. Suddenly, you didnât want to be with this guy. You wanted Dean.
âIâm sorry. I have to stop.â You said, and Matt pulled back.
âWhat is it? Are you okay?â He asked, raising his eyebrows.
âItâs just thatâŚâ You said, biting your lip. As you hesitated, he nodded, seeming to understand.
âYouâre in love with that guy from the bar,â he said, sitting up. You two sat, both of your shirts off.
âIâm sorry,â you said, wringing your hands. âYouâre very funny and attractive and nice, which is hard to find, but I just canât,â you say, and he nods.
âDonât worry about it, itâs totally cool. If I was in love I wouldnât want to be with anyone else, either,â he said, nearly melting your heart.
âThank you so much. I actually think youâre the coolest guy Iâve ever met,â you said, grabbing your shirt and putting it back on. He did the same thing, shrugging.
âI mean, I kind of am,â he said with mock pride. You laughed, giving his hand a squeeze and getting out of the car behind him.
âThanks for not being a dick,â you say, kissing his cheek. You really wished you liked him, but Dean was the only person you could think about. As you walk back to the bar you hear a strange noise. You immediately tense up, hoping it wasnât another vampire. As you look around, you make sure no one was there to see you. Matt had gone back inside, so you were completely alone. You lean down, removing a small blade from your boot. You lightly tread around the bar, cautiously turning the corner to find the source of the noise.
What you saw tore your heart in half. You dropped your weapon, and the two lovers turned to look at you with shock.
Dean was pressed against the girl heâd been dancing with, his fingers tangled in her hair. Her legs were wrapped around his waist, and you could clearly see they were doing more than just kissing. You turned on your heels and ran, sprinting in the direction of the forest; which was behind the bar.
â(Y/N), wait!â You heard behind you, but it didnât stop you from running into the thick trees. As tears ran down your face, you wished you had never met Dean Winchester. All heâd done was drag your heart around, causing more stress to your life than necessary. You were a hunter, for Christâs sake, the only thing you should be this stressed about is a paranormal being killing you.
Your lungs began to burn, and the lights slowly dimmed the further you got. You knew it was smarter to stop and turn around, but the idea of going back was humiliating. In your pocket, you phone rang; you knew who it was before looking. When you stopped, you put your hands above your head as you cried. You turned in circles, looking for the way youâd come in.
Eventually you found yourself sitting, curled up on the ground and trying to ignore the pain in your chest. It wasnât fair; you hadnât been able to hook up with a great guy because you were thinking of Dean, and he was able to have sex with anyone he wanted. You sat up, pulling your phone out of your pocket when it rang for the millionth time. You had twenty-six missed calls and ten voicemails. You hit end on his call, then clicked on the voicemails to listen to what he had to say.
â(Y/N)⌠Look, come back. I need to talk to you.â The first one said. You listened to a few more, each getting more and more heated.
âPick up the damn phone, already!â he yelled, causing you to wince and retract the phone from your ear. You shut your phone, deciding now was the time to go back. As you sat up, you heard the sound of your name being called.
âDean?â You said, loud enough for him to hear. A flashlight was pointed in your direction, and the figure behind it walked toward you.
â(Y/N),â Dean said, almost angry. âWhat were you thinking? It might not be safe out here,â he said, putting the flashlight down.
âI know,â you said, just above a whisper.
âWhatâs wrong with you? Did that guy from the bar do something to you?â He asks, almost growling.
âWhat? No.â You suddenly get defensive, pushing past him.
âThen what?â He asks, stopping in front of you.
âNothing,â you say, brushing off his questions.
âTell me,â he says, getting frustrated.
âNo,â you say, trying to walk around him. He grabs your arm, stopping you.
âI canât help if I donât know whatâs wrong. Can you just tell me?â he says, and you snap.
âI couldnât do it, okay?â You say, and he suddenly looks confused.
âWhat?â He questions.
âI couldnât sleep with that guy because I was thinking about you, while youâre out here fucking someone else,â you say, pulling your arm from his grasp. His face twists into understanding, and he looks ashamed.
âI had no idea you felt that way,â he says, and you become quiet.
âWell what am I supposed to do? Itâs obvious you donât feel the same way.â You turn away, starting to walk.
âI do,â he says, and you stop walking.
âWhat?â You ask, turning.
âI just thought you didnât want me back,â he says, and your heart races.
âReally?â You ask and he nods, stepping towards you. He takes your face in his hands, and suddenly kisses you.
âAbsolutely,â he says after he pulls back.Â
âBut... all those girls...â you say, drawing together your eyebrows.Â
âWhat? In the bar?â He asks, and you nod. âNo, babe. You shouldâve seen the way all those guys were looking at you. I wanted to kick their asses,â he says, sounding angry. You smile, realizing that he had done everything at first to try and seem intimidating.Â
âWhyâd you dance with her, then? If you wanted to be with me.â You have to ask.
âI didnât think you liked me like that. I was trying to make you jealous. Then I saw you leaving with him and I figured it was game over.â He says, and your heart drops. Had you been the one seeming unattainable this whole time? You smile at him. His lips are on yours again.Â
Somehow, you end up with your back on the ground. In a frenzy the two of you are taking off your clothes, your breath hitching as he kisses down your body and pulls down your underwear. He kisses in between your thighs, his hands tickling down your legs. You moan, grabbing his hair. His pants are off in an instant, his eyes filled with lust. He leans back onto you, pressing his forehead against yours. He wastes no time pushing into you, and you quickly wrap your legs around his waist.
Itâs not long before you build a rhythm by meeting his thrusts, buckling against him as you near the edge. He grabs your hands and holds them over your head; he kisses you softly, and then holds your gaze as you come undone. You yell out his name and your back arches off the ground.
When you come down, heâs kissing your neck and wrapping his arms around you.
âOh my God,â you say, wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him again.
âDamn.â Is all he responds with. The two of you laugh, and then take your time getting dressed. It may not have been the ideal place for the two of you to have sex, but it was one hell of a memory. As you walk back to the motel, you hold hands and go directly to your room for round two.
