Reading assignment #4

-Vanishing and becoming-

This piece of reading was most definitely eye-opening. It is odd to think that the first medium for many artists would be drawing. That is how I thought why I would want to be an artist because my medium was drawing. But in this reading, it slowly takes us to draw but the real depth of the idea was visual and capturing what our eyes capture for a while. Even a glimpse of shadow movement was seen as art by our ancestors. It is pretty incredible to see how far the visual presentation of video and capturing scenes has changed and improved. Projection, lenses, all are meant to capture something in the real world. However, there has been an artist who has taken pieces off and created something new and made images question the viewer's eye and thinking. In the last page, there was a note of how to capture a certain image, it would have to do with measuring the distance of the lens, making sure what the artist wants to capture is being captured. It is harder, yet it is one of the most beautiful mediums being created.

The image reminds me of Dunkirk film, wherein the film, there is not much narrative but it mostly focuses on the imageriry of what is going on. Even when the motion of the filmis going slow or fast, it takes an emotion to the viewers. Time and motion is more than just depth of movement and where it took place. How I see time and motion, it can also be as a moment or a quick capture of something happening that can be recreated again or remade again. It is a time and motion that can not be destroyed, be seen and inspired for others to create as their own.
