ghosts are real and theyâre everywhere. in old photographs tucked safely in a box under your bed. in the walls of your childhood home waiting for you to come back. they live in old text messages and emails. forever frozen in time. they haunt your old best friends neighborhood. flickering in the street lamps. occasionally, on very rare summer afternoons; when the sun shines through the kitchen window in a certain way and all of the sudden you get this feeling in your stomach of melancholia; that is a haunting. a possession. those are ghosts trying to find comfort in the present because the past they once lived in no longer exists.
One day I'll be able to look back and realise just how impossibly hard it was and how fucking well I did...Not now but one day.

Alone
by Edgar Allan Poe
From childhoodâs hour I have not been As others were; I have not seen As others saw; I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I loved, I loved alone. Then â in my childhood, in the dawn Of a most stormy life â was drawn From every depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still: From the torrent, or the fountain, From the red cliff of the mountain, From the sun that round me rolled In its autumn tint of gold, From the lightning in the sky As it passed me flying by, From the thunder and the storm, And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view.
