My other big trans death gate thought is that- I think at some point Haplo and Marit find, like, a mid teens orphan girl named Rue they would like to Add To The Horde ajd she listens to them and nods and says she appreciates the offer and- well, she'd need to think about it, but first she does feel obliged to tell them that is Not her birthname or assigned gender. And they're like (slight nod) ok cool so you'll think about it? And that's it and they have a trans daughter and it's very casual. Yay

Spent a lot of time recently gazing out of my kitchen window thinking about The Character's identity issues and fractured life, so I started sketching it, and it just demanded a painterly treatment. The world out there is yours, but it is not the world you knew, and you are someone new in it, some old, young afraid thing hiding inside something new that is Old...
