There was no cruel intent behind her actions, no urge to bring him pain and suffering, they simply arose without them being the goal. She only wanted to teach him of his mistakes, show him how much karma came if no one died. Death itself wasn’t horrible, it wasn’t much painful or horrid, it just was, a part of nature which everyone must face. Some sooner than others, and such it had to take place in order for new life to be born. Death made life valuable, without what was the point of existing in the first place?
Kei could tell he took it hard, very personal and somehow far too heart. The shift within his features made her almost regret the bold actions she’d taken to prove to him her job was not easy, and it needed to happen. Almost.
“Take it as you will” Those were the last words she’d utter without a approaching reply, letting her reaper cloak appear around her shoulders once more to conceal her face with a hood and blend into the darkened streets easier.
With no more to be done, she’d turn away, walking back towards the house that mattered. Work was still to be done, broken humans or not, the child needed to pass before more chaos occurred.
At least for the moment, Kei had peace to perform her task. Floating into the room with a silent jump, she spotted the child's parents asleep by their side. Slow breaths, one particularly raspy, they feared for their daughters life it seemed. So much so, even unconscious they believed being by her side meant they could shield her from harm, from death.
She couldn't do much more than give them another moment of silence before stepping forward and placing a hand over the child's heart. As soon as pressure was applied she opened her eyes, tired, then wide in horror. No noise was made besides a few gasps. Deciding to ignore the protests, she focused on her chest area, sinking her hand into it as if it were being engulfed. The child's hands Tore over hers, gasping, spluttering enough to wake her parents who rushed to see what was wrong.
Too late, Kei had gripped her heart until it stopped and the child was only moving due to two panicking adults shaking and sobbing at her. Next, she pulled away, pulling out a shining orb of a soul with her. It absorbed into her palm before Kei walked right back out of the window and into the pavement.
