This was the day I had dreaded the most on the whole ride. Luckily, the 1,000 year storm that had passed through Death Valley a few weeks earlier had washed away some road and this meant that we were travelling a shorter distance today. Good news, right? I’m not sure whether it’ll be a relief to reach day 5, or a shame. I thought I’d give you a flavour of the route that I’ll be cycling in Death Valley over the next few days. Day 1 starts at Beatty and ends around 34 miles later in Stovepipe Wells.
