.the Devil (medieval picture)
For those who have just enter the scene; watch out. There are all sorts of things flying about in a flurry of tears and tumult.
The clattering and banging could be heard from down the hallway. Two brothers had determined which one would go and investigate via the long proven method of scissor, paper, stone.
Marcus had won.
And yet it was still he that ventured down the hallway to where Rosy was… Destroying the castle? Perhaps. It was always he that went to see if the storm could be calmed. He was easily talked into it. Lucas was pleased to have the task out of his hands.
He gave the door a soft rap with his knuckles before entering.
She had moved on to other things by now; left, right and center all sorts of trinkets to be seen scattered across the floor. A head turns toward the subtle voice by the door. As does a bowl having mysteriously taken flight through the air.
The prince felt the air itself move as the bowl smacked into the door frame above him and shattered into a rain of shards. The dent in the wood would have been in his skull if he had not been fortunate enough to duck at the last second. A warriors reflexes were not merely suited for battle, it would seem.
Not when you had a sister such as he was blessed with.
He carefully brushed debris from his hair and - against what was perhaps better judgement - stepped into the room. He lifted hands in surrender to a force that had always bested any he had met on the battlefield.
“Rosy, it is only me! Whatever is the matter?”
Throwback Thursday.
Season 2 Leo, and someone is watching…

Was this to be her lot in life; to be surrounded by such uselessness! All she had wanted was a pretty new necklace to add to all the others. And all she had gotten was so very little in return, and nothing at all what she had asked for.
That nothing is just what goes smacking against the door next. The least sort of treatment it deserved.
No reply. Though, if he were to be truthful, he hadn’t been expecting one. The knock had been meek, not really properly seeking an answer. Not that he was afraid. Of course not.
Merely wary.
And rightly so; the thunk just the other side of the door had been loud indeed. Despite this, he chanced opening the door and poked his head through the partition.
“Rosy? Are you alright?”
A paltry question; the answer was obvious.

Herrad of Landsberg: Hortus deliciarum (12th century)
The liberal arts (Latin: artes liberales) are those subjects or skills that in classical antiquity were considered essential for a free person to know in order to take an active part in civic life, something that (for Ancient Greece) included participating in public debate, defending oneself in court, serving on juries, and most importantly, military service.
7 liberal arts:
grammar,
rhetoric,
logic,
arithmetic,
geometry,
the theory of music,
astronomy.
I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.
