       highschool was surely a time to be alive for marceline emery. with the pointless detentions, the homework that was piling up after ever night, & most importantly: the people. marcy had always found herself focusing on her art; whether it was how big the people’s heads were, if the emotion of the moment could get through to the readers & so much more. but somehow along the way of high school… marceline fell in love with a cute boy. if one would go back & look into her first ever web comic, they would find that around the time marceline started developing feelings for someone it heavily reflected in her work. some would say that’s adorable, others would claim that it was weird especially since she never told him how she had felt. —– not until later on at least. at one point in time she had worked up enough courage to talk to him which was the only thing he had wanted. & after agreeing to go on a date with her, it all only went up from there. the two went on numerous dates, had numerous laughs, & even shared a few firsts with one another.

       things had always been rocky between jiahao & their dad ever since their mom had left when hao was twelve. she left because she never wanted a child in the first place & with looking at hao, often times she became mute when within the koeq household. surprisingly enough, jiahao was happy when her mother left, not really finding a deep emotional attachment to someone she hardly knew. however; growing up with her father had provided to be rough waters, from his strict rules & loud voice - jiahao had mostly secluded herself from seeing him when she was at home. with the way the waves moved & the ways they both carved & destroyed; jiahao’s relationship with her father was one of them. way too many memories could be brought up in which jiahao could ‘ attack ’ with. but yet, part of her believes that she could’ve tried a bit harder to be a good child.

Jo’s wiping down the chair when the bell chimes, alerting her of a possible customer. “Be right with you in a sec.” She hollers over her shoulder as she finishes tidying her work area. It takes her less than a minute before she’s walking towards them. “So were you hoping to make an appointment, a walk in? My work is over on the table next to you if you wanna check it out.” She’s already looking forward to the therapeutic buzzing.

       marceline had a few tattoos already lining her body, none in any obvious places like her forearms or neck or anything like that. but today she wanted something else; although rather small it shouldn’t be that difficult. “ walk in. no need to take a look at your work, you can trace right ? ”

kayla ! 

THE BRUNETTE HAD JUST STORMED OUT of her home, still left fuming after the fight she had just had with her mother. she hates arguing with her, knowing that she only feels worse when she becomes stressed out. kayla is fed up with her mother trying to decide what is best for her, but when you’re at the end of the line caring for someone you love, you would do anything for them. now sat on one of the many benches in the local park, the female lets out a sigh - breath showing in the air as she exhales. the sound of rustling fills her hears, turning her head in the direction of the movement only to find the individual walking towards her.

       with the sun setting in the west & painting quite the picture in the far off distance mirae was of course out & about ready to capture the moment. it had been over a week since mirae had spent the night in his own house at a reasonable time - most of the nights he had found himself arriving home at roughly one or two in the morning. this time; his night was occupied with the park, with the sun peaking through the trees. however; despite how the sun was spilling throughout the leaves leaving misshaped light patterns on the ground, a girl had happened to catch his eye instead. “ uh... ” was the first word to roll of his lips as he moved closer to her, camera slung against his neck. “ is everything okay ? ”

      “ — just hear me out okay ? so this girl came in today, i don’t think she’s from derry ‘cause i didn’t recognize her. but hey - she had long brown hair, cute denim jacket - she was attractive. she was so excited to get a tattoo today. she told me that she wanted to just skip the meeting in which we talked about where her tattoo would be, how big it would be, pain, time length, & all that good shit. so i was like ‘ okay cool. i hope that this girl is 100% sure ’. & so i asked her what she wanted me to permanently put on her body & she holds out her coffee & takes the top off going ‘ so i got this latte & they made the foam look like a guy & i took one look at it & i swear to god he’s my soulmate so i want it tattooed on me so i can find him later on ’. i looked down at the coffee & told her alright - because i could totally see the face. i don’t know how old the girl was, or if she watched television, but i can’t hope but WONDER if she knows the face in her coffee was danny devito or not. kudos to the person who made her latte though - this girl’s parents are going to be disappointed. ”

lived in seattle until she was two, then moved to derry, maine

her parents were v v into fashion

wanted marcy to be into it too but in middle school she was actually into art ??

her parents amused her art & shit mainly bc they thought it would be a phase

but in high school marcy started up an online comic & it got super popular so no way was she gonna do fashion

junior year her parents said “us & fashion or your dumb art” & marcy chose her art ?

lol she got kicked out of the house & her parents moved away bc wow they didn’t want her if she wasn’t going to carry on the family business #rude

she’s pretty happy tho. she’s had a pretty simple life using the weird websites like deviantart & what not. 

kind of a rebel at heart ? shes not going to go breaking car windows, but skinny dipping in a neighbors pool at 2am is something on her bucketlist. 

kind of weird... also kind of scared of love ? idk she just doesnt understand it tbh

her fear is being attacked by zombies. she doesn’t want to become a brainless fool who tries to eat other people so zombies being real is literally terrifying for her

mirae is actually a girl’s name so as a kid he prolly got teased about it but not like he cared

he lived with his dad ( death tw - his mom passed away when he was young )

his dad taught him everything about photography tbh

car crash tw - yet when mirae was sixteen his dad was teaching him how to drive & mirae had ended up ‘ blacking out ’ long enough to get in a car crash ( he didn’t crash into anyone else…. jsut a tree aha. ) neither were badly hurt !!!!

what mirae thought was him blacking out was him actually having very bad fuzzy/blurry vision which made it highly difficult for him to see.

five months later & the boy was diagnosed with macular degeneration ( a medical condition in the eyes that can cause blurred vision or loss of eyesight ) mirae didn’t let that stop him from continuing to do photography at all though. he is so determined to continue to do it even if he becomes fully blind. 

he’s super headstrong for the most part & refuses to let his father bring his hopes down about being a photographer all his life.

he thinks… very pessimistically by himself though. bc he has no idea how he’s going to do it. no one knows, not even his dad, but mirae is completely blind in his left eye. he doesn’t want people to start worrying about him bc he thinks he can take care of himself.

but bc he thinks so lowly of himself is why he’s really just.... soft spoken ??/

 he can speak korean, english, & french. he can also read braille

jiahao realized they didn’t care for genders when they were about sixteen, it wasn’t until they were nineteen that they officially determined they were androgynous

upon deciding that though, jiahao’s father kicked them out saying that it was ridiculous to not just grow up as the “typical girl”

her & her dad fought a lot tbh for so many years & at that point jiahao was already on a thin line

but she got a tattoo & that was it for her dad: he disowned her (:

after being disowned, she moved to the complete opposite side of derry to get away from him. she’s actually enjoying life one step at a time.

they’re also an activist for a lot of things so there’s that too. 

jiahao has a v v strong personality. he can be super blunt & honest & a lot of people think he’s super scary just because he has resting bitch face

once someone gets to know jiahao though, most find that hao has a snese of humor about the world & most topics while somehow maintaining a passion to fight for what they believe is right

but no matter how grounded jiahao comes across if there’s a thunderstorm they’re locked in their home probably crying their heart out.
